36k down to 27k two of the BIGGEST clubs in the comp = decline! Can't have it both ways RD you kept telling us last year Swans v Giants 50k in 2012 down to 27k in 2014 = decline :D

All in all a pretty poor start for poor Smith, especially after his claims RL would be number one in Australia within 4 years

I tried to watch some of the Thugby last night but had to turn it off after a couple of minutes cause, it is just so slow & boring. I really cant understand how anyone follows this sport. No wonder no one turns up to the games.

Cant wait for the real footy to start next Friday

How so when crowds for ARs are over double the NRL?

27K in March isn't too bad although it should have been over 30K at least. However maybe some Roosters fans stayed away having an inkling that Inglis was going to have a blinder.

Let's see what the crowd's like tonight at ANZ when my Bulldogs take on the Broncos. We are going in as favourites, but never underestimate Brisbane.

27k for a supposed season starting blockbuster between two good sides is woeful

Which it will drift towards later in the year. The traditional AFL opener is Carlton v Richmond. Again two decent sides in a blockbuster. The crowd is usually 60-80k

usually, but for the first time in years, they arn't playing each other in the season opener. its Collingwood vs freo at etihad, but still will easily out draw the bumsniffers game

Collingwood & Freo will be a sellout at etihad & it will be a great match with great atmosphere unlike the crap last night
