Our NRL members don't generally participate in debate, especially when theyre stumped for a decent response, they just hurl insults.
Are you for real??

I will debate but the paranoia ,outright lies & the refusal to reply with anything other than .MEAT PUPPET or GOOSE makes it hard...

1 point yet again for your BIAS.
Have you seen Raiderdaves posts?
Yes I have & yeh he is over the top at times but at least he posts some sources & some thing that is close to debate.
Yet you said nothing zilch about cwappers bullshit.
As a Mod some sort of unbiased opinion would be good.

the AFL's underclass of working-poor clubs are increasingly reliant on the goodwill of the AFL and banks to survive

I predict the AFL will receive a similar dollar amount to what they've got this time. Perhaps 100million more.

It's awful but true, dave's not lying, the game is in decline.

Pretty sure itrs Australia wide dear swines. Crowd averages are going down. Teams are in debt. There's a massive chasm between quality of performance between the bottom 6 sides and the rest. It's very significant, people don't wanna go watch a thumping atleast 1 in every 3 games.

Anyway welcome back swines. Are you still up for meeting for a few rounds of boxing? What's your weight?

What about memberships been going up every year, attendances increased last year didn't they after a small fall, revenue is now record level in 2012 450mil ( we still don't have 2013 figures yet) Rich, Hawks, Pies, Eagles, Dockers mil profits, yes some disappointing teams but that is circular just like the NRL. I think your being a bit flippant with the truth there KE - I'm not going to bag RL because I think it's healthy to have good competition and I like RL. Yeah still interested but have to find time work is getting very busy - about 100kg.

I just want to say regarding Raiderdave's reference to the drop in AFL crowd averages, this has several causes. Not just the admission of the Suns and the Giants, but also the AFL's promotional efforts in Darwin, Hobart, Launceston, Canberra and Cairns. These venues are not high capacity venues, with the possible exception of Launceston. What I mean by high capacity is anything over 20,000.

So I don't think it's an indication that the game is in decline at all. Growing pains will cause some figures such as these. Once the NRL expands into Perth and gets the second Brisbane team the same thing will likely happen. It does not mean a decline, but rather a correction. I've always felt the AFL crowd average was over blown when it hit it's present record. I've also felt that the NRL crowd average is underdone. Neither indicate the true value of the respective codes. Now the AFL is presently ahead - that can not be denied. But they won't stay there if they show some increased value with bigger crowds in the areas they aren't getting them. The NRL need to use their money to force councils to allow upgrades to it's home venues, Brookvale, Parramatta and Penrith in particular with Kogarah not far behind. I would love to see Belmore worked on, but the Bulldogs seem to happy playing it's home games at ANZ Stadium for now.

Very valid points Cracker - but shouldn't the NRL concentrate on ground rationalisation rather than pump money into venues that will never have enough capacity - most NRL stadia are really land locked and have little room for expansion - also there issues with transport - brookvale has no accessible train line as is the same with Kogarah etc - why not have 3 first class stadiums that are central - SFS, ANZ, and one further west like Parramatta - also less Sydney teams is needed not more. I like RL and am a firm believer that there is room for both but your not going to get an average of 30k unless clubs play at bigger stadia.
