Put at least $1 billion into it, and then we might listen!
why do they need 1 billion?? where do u come up with ur figures?!
the AFL put down $200 million for NSW and QLD over 4/5 years with their goal to increae AFL's prescense in these two states. NSW and QLD make up over 55% of Australia, so The NRL investing $200 million over four years for 45% of the country seems about the same really.

I don't think that comparison is really valid, 214Four, because the AFL have more to spend so they go over the top with it. But you are right otherwise. I would like to know what NRLCrap1 is basing his figure on.
I don't think the claims made by David Smith should be scoffed. The AFL may be on the crest of a wave, but it can all collapse very quickly and bang will go their number 1 status. The second Brisbane team will increase NRL revenue and the time is close for a team in Perth. The NRL can also jump on the AFL's apathy towards Tasmania. All three combined can cause a big enough jump to send the NRL past the AFL as the number one competition in the country, provided of course there is a corresponding drop with the AFL causing them to panic.
There is however an X Factor. If the Socceroos have any level of tangible success at the FIFA World Cup, soccer could bounce past both codes.

You're assuming that RL has the same level of presence in Vic, SA, WA and Tassie as AFL has in NSW and QLD.
WRONG!!
Because RL is so far behind, it needs five times the amount of investment into the game to get it going! Remember that the presence in the AFL heartland states is next to ZERO!! You have to multiply it by five to bring it up to where AFL is at in NSW and QLD! And add another billion because of all the work that needs to be done on Sydney's NRL venues!

I rather think some bona fide education would work better than abuse, Raiderdave. I do not have the figures in front of me, but I can assure NRLCrap1 that rugby league is more prominent in the AFL states than he thinks. Likewise Aussie rules is less prominent in the NRL states.

Oh really? How about 11 senior leagues in New South Wales (plus one in the ACT with two divisions) and 8 in Queensland including one with six divisions - and one across both states! Total in effect - 27!
From memory in Victoria it was 3, SA 1, WA 2 and Tasmania 1! Total in effect - 7!
Well?

Youre wrong. RL is barely seen here in Victoria, even less seen in WA, and unheard of in SA and Tas.

10,000 registered club RL players in the vfl states
that's tripled since 1998
that figure will triple again in the next 15 years
meanwhile vfl registered club player growth in nsw & qld is stagnet
not doing anything as has been reported many times
this is the real picture
don't let any deluded lying fumblers tell you any different

That's funny RD the NRL E-Brochure lists only 2774 registered players in Victoria? As you are saying VFL you must mean only Victoria - if your talking about the REST of the AFL playing states (and I assume you mean Vic, SA, WA and Tassie although NT can be included in that!)
Then am afraid your wrong
Vic 2778
WA 2733
SA 1053
Tas 109
Total 6713 let's be optimistic and say 6800
Hardly 10000 registered players - also just like you like to remind AFL people about AF in NSW - RL has been in Australia over 100 yrs and what have you got outside NSW/QLD 9100 players still 900 short of 10000.
So out of the approx 11 million Australians that live outside NSW/QLD LESS than 10k play RL, I wouldn't be bragging RD!
Pitty you don't research before you post!

I would have thought that the NRL E-Broucher was an up to date figure - again is it a LOCAL comp giving QUESTIONABLE figures and the NRL HAVING different figures - oh and I did include NT for a total short of 10k. - where is the link to Vic? In any event I increased the total being optimistic - the reality is STILL true your bragging about 10k players after 100 yrs of RL in Australia - you realise how absurd that is don't you?

Seven would be about correct, but I need to see some sources for this 27 you're quoting.

You're asking a fumble fan for some sources.
Sorry you are on the wrong site for that ..
They post anything they want ...call it fact & have no source ,or on the very rare occasion use WIKI,or WFN ..
As reliable as a car with a dodgy battery & starter motor.
Sources are not a requirement on here ..as much as I have asked for it to be In the rules .

Is that a generalised statement AFLCRAPPER or fact? Obviously you ignored my post above with source - I don't want to accuse you of lying so are you being ignorant, lazy or confused? Hahaha couldn't resist you obviously have won a gold star for your stand! Cracker the sources are pretty easy to find go to AFLNSW, AFLQ it's all there. Just a lot of surfing!
