Yes, the AFL have really fukked emselves bigtime. You can also add izzy folou to their list of bungled attempts to positively promote the sport in WS.
I mean you bribe some up and coming RL star with $$$ take him off RL fields and fans and stick him out on the marngrook field like some kind of strange experiement. He fails and is generally the worst player on the field. At the same time he is the pinup poster boy for the team, a status usually reserved for the best player of the team. And then. Then he pisses off with the cash after one season!
It seriously could not be going any worse for the AFL in western Sydney. Atleast LG knows it

But he only knows it because he originally didn't want a team to go there. If he wanted a team in WS he'd be suggesting its going gangbusters like beaussie and co

What got me about the Fumble spin machine & Izzy was
One of their big talking points in promoting the team was the FACT( & it has some truth )that with the bigger bodied Poly kids in Juniors the AFL were giving the smaller White kids a chance to play a game where they wont get trampled by a much bigger kid..
They were doing alright up until some Brainiac(does cwapper work for Fumblehouse??) came up with the idea of getting IZZY to play so they could attract the Poly Boys to Derpball.
That makes about as much sense as any of Cwappers posts.
OXYMORON .

who ever these people were if i was the AFL i would be suing there asses, they were either high and drunk all the way through or were secretly soccer and rugby league fans just trying to derail the giants from day one. no one can seriously make stupid descision after stupid descrsion after stupid....

so your telling me that no other team has black and orange as their colours in the AFL? lol are you sure you watch AFL? WAT A GOOSE.
Orange or dark yellow is used by a large number of AFL teams already so i do not believe that GWS's colours were chosen with consideration of clashing.
Orange and dark grey/black are stupid colours cos 1. jerseys in those colours dont look as good as say black, blue white or red jerseys so decreases merchandise sale potential 2. the colours dont represent western sydney, they have no connection with western sydney. 3. the swans are gws's biggest rival, GWS's colours should have been as opposite colours to swans as possible, normally rivals colours are contrasting, ie blue and red. 3. they never let western sydney choose their colours, if they did and the descision was orange and black then at least thats what the fans wanted. if they held a colour choice for fans, orange would have been the last chosen.
I think that the AFL chose orange and black/dark grey due to the Wests Tigers and at the time of GWS's creation they were the most successful team and biggest supported NRL club in western sydney and with its fans based where the giants were trying to set up. so perhaps the AFL thought to give GWS similar colours to Wests to attract its supporters, perhaps thinking its easier for fans to follow teams with same colours.

Whilst this may be true, the Blacktown Mayor does have a point. Blacktownis the epi-centre of western Sydney - and Homebush is inner west. Also IIRC the Blacktown venue was supposed to be state of the art anyway. If it needed improvement then the Blacktown council should have been told instead of abandoned.
Incidentally, let's not hide behind a paper's reputation when it comes to stories being told.

Yes the AFL certainly showed blacktown and greater western Sydney what they think of em. A horrid affair and I feel sorry for the few supporters out there who got completely shafted

Western Sydney just seems like a lost cause in following footy. It does not want to be like the rest of Australia & follow Australia's game. Let them have there soccer & to a lessor extent Rugby League while the rest of the country follows the great game of Aussie Rules.
I have heard it is a hole anyway so why the AFL cares that no one likes it out there I cant understand.
Jesus H Christ .
Another delusional derpball fan .
AFL is a long long LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way behind RL in QLD .
QLD is a RL state .
NSW Is a RL state .
No amount of wishful thinking or outright lies will change that.
In Fact AFL is probably battling RU for 3rd spot in QLD.
But don't let the truth get in the way of a good delusion.
You really are paranoid about Aust Rules AFLCRAPPER - mate I don't know where you hatred for a sport comes from but please if not for your own sake maybe your own loved ones have a chill pill - no one is claiming number one north of the Murray after all there all just games not life and death and certainly not something to get upset over. I have read many of your recent posts and you really are getting a bit obsessed! There only games the earth won't stop turning if NRL or AFL isn't number one.

How did they get shafted? Football clubs play at and move to different venues all the time - Swans from Sth Melb to Sydney, Hawthorne plays in Tassie as does Nth, RL sides play at other venues as we'll from memory St.George/Ill is moving from Wollongong
http://m.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league ... 2xrmt.html
So why rant you talking about them KE? Is it because your biased? We know why because you wouldn't write anything positive about AFL if your life depended on it. On a side note isn't Homebush more accessible for fans - I found it fairly easy to get to when I saw the Swans play GWS - Blacktown would have been a nightmare to get to!
