So it looks like the nrl and Dave smith are working hard to take the number 1 spot off AFL. Maybe this will cause the AFL to respond to fend off the challengers.... Maybe the AFL have been complacent ?? Be good to see what happens.

Yes he keeps sprouting those figures despite being shown god knows how many times they are simply wrong lol. Do we need to put the published figures back up again ??

just because your code is defined by its domestic comp ... as it has nothing else   :(/ :(/ :_<> :_<>

doesn't mean the diverse game of Rugby League is

No Smith is just doing what should have been done long time ago.
Run the game professionally,no old boys club,no favours..
Just a solid business model,fresh ideas,new innovations.

After a civil war,15 yrs of getting raped by News LTD,old boys club mentality, etcthe game has not just survived(contrary to wishful thinking.&predictions of an early Death),but is now thriving.

Other sports had their shot at taking over/destroying RL while it was down & out & didn't come close to succeeding.
Now RL is on its feet,& taking strides forward.

Fans of other codes who still think R is dying are fucked in the head(theres a few on here).
If I was them I would be more worried about how far a cashed up,well run sport can go .
A sport just starting to flex its muscle..
It will never take over the Southern states, but it has far more scope to expand than AFL has..

Nope, I think the nrl is actually doing well getting back on its feet. AFL is clearly number 1 at the moment but the nrl are working on that and I believe going forward. Ironically, I think it wS the AFL's move into western Sydney that was a large factor in getting the nrl to get out if their Sydney centric complacency and stagnation. So no, nrl is not dying, in fact the innovations and changes have been good for the game. They are not as far behind as they once were that's for sure.

AFL is no 1 in some areas .
RL is no 1 in some .

Definitely, however the nrl would love to have the presence AFL has non traditional areas.

Also, nrl doesn't have the level of support AFL has in their respective heartlands as nrl competes with union to a degree.

& yet more people still watch our game ?
union is essentially finished as a popular sport in Australia.. an awful game to watch ... now being abandon by the disgruntled leaguies who went over for a look when RL had its civil war in 1997

& there coming back to League in droves as it is an outstanding product that is getting better
meaning our lead in viewership over the VFL.. will increase in the years to come

Hey Dave you need to add the 12m Kiwi's on Sky NZ to that and it is not even a contest.

The AFL also has multiple channels it broadcasts each game via simulcasts and they still cant get close....

AFL also show more Live games and still not close.....

AFL also have 1 extra game each round and still fall behind.....face it shirt lifters your game is at its peak with no real upside compared to NRL.

Of course when you follow a code that has NO FUCKING REP games ,the jealousy will make you say utter crap(in your case moreso than usual)
Of course some of your rep games are good, but the SOO ruins your season so it balances out.
   :(/ :(/ :(/ :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<>

how bout a 3rd of your comps teams being nothing but state league level imposters
how bout that for ruining your season dickhead :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/

oh &
we have a world class rep program to make up for any waning interest we may suffer from during our season
what does your bumbling code have to distract from its short comings ?

We have no shortcomings. Rugby League does. And so do you, Dave. Your obsession. Your compulsion. Comfirmed.
