Whats 50% of 5,500 Dave? 2,750?

Well the Suns are still ahead of 8,250, So the suns are over 50% ahead of the Titans total.

Another classic Dave fail... :[]

Fact is more Gold Coast residents are suns members than Titans members. :\:

Proof
How do you know that That .
there is NO breakdown of where these members live.
& Fumblefans from Vicderpia have a habit of buying memberships for non heartland teams.

& as Dave said.
More people have been to watch the Titans play than the suns.
More people watch the Titans on TV than the Suns.

memberships are an AFL culture thing..have been for yrs.
It is relatively new to RL,so boasting about that is not much of a Victory.

The funny thing is every yr we hear how The Suns will get bigger crowds(apparently they are growing & Fumbleball is taking over).
& every yr the cultists are wrong.

Why the hell would Victorians take out a suns membership? :?> sure, you may have got the odd one when they started, but not 4 seasons in.

This is supposed to be RL heartland. It's an indictment on RL fans that a brand new AFL franchise has more members than a heartland club.

Their crowds will grow, once they start winning regularly

What a load of shit.
You are having a go at Rl fans for NOT BEING MEMBERS when it is relatively new.

How long did it take for AFL club memberships to grow when they started really pushing.
RL is still in the infant stage of Memberships, but has good growth every yr

So you're still trying to claim a victory using an ingrained culture in One sport V something new in another.

You know I would rather fans who are prepared to buy memberships than fly by nighters who just show up for games. Makes the fact that the Titans at home have a higher average than the Suns seem immaterial. Why aren't these rugby league fans actually taking out memberships eh?

The gold coast is a new market for ARs, therefore memberships are not a tradition amongst new fans, they are a tradition amongst existing markets. Stop making lame excuses, it's pathetic.

Bullshit.
the GC I full of expat Vicderpians.
They & their misguided offspring come from the culture of Memberships..

A classic NRL myth this one. The majority of Victorians moving to the GC would continue to follow their own team, not abandon them for the suns. The excuses are laughable

Not excuses.
Fact.
AFL has had a culture of MEMBERSHIPS for a lot lot longer than RL.
So comparing Membership numbers is horseshit.

Crowds Tv ratings are the best measure .

It's an excuse. The AFL may have a head start but in the last 5 years, well after the NRL began pushing memberships and the AFL memberships had reached near saturation point, the AFL has continued to pull away in members numbers. NRL fans are more interested in sitting at home

This is the titans we are talking about isn't it? Big crowds? They've had a steady decline from 21k to 14k per game. They're only marginally above the suns, an expansion team who have barely won a game yet, and therefore have one of the smallest followings in the AFL.

Just replying to your

I showed that on the GC they are still above the Suns.

In a supposed heartland state, and with a 4 years head start, they should have the support of a far greater proportion of the local sports fans. Therefore it's pretty clear, like the rest of the RL community, they prefer to stay at home.
