A bit of respect wouldn't go astray mate. Racism is a massive issue in our country, if not the biggest, and Goodes has done a great deal to bring it into the spotlight. All the people nominated were champs and all worthy winners but Adam got the gong and good on him. We should all be happy for the bloke.

Theres a lot of people done south that havnt even meet an aboriginal person..if everyone were to spend even just 6months in community it would do this country a lot of good. So many ignorant uniformed attitudes out there!

It was a fucking disgrace that he towed the AFL company line & let them handle it(WET LETTUCE LEAF).

He had the perfect opportunity to make a stance(& he would have been backed by everyone except Collingwood fans)to really address Racism problems,from those high up in the community,not just young uneducated girls.
He chose not to .

Makes a mockery of his claim of wanting to stamp out Racism.

Not an NRL vs AFL thing at all, it's a bloody joke.

I just think it is a shame some people have to find a negative just cause an AFL player got the award . If it was an nrl player the same people would be championing it solely cause of the sport he plays. Guys, you have to get over this obsession. It would be great to hear something positive about AFL from these types to show they aren't blind with hatred

I see he was named nsw Australian of the year in November too. As I said, these things are always debatable but seems he has a foundation that supports young aboriginal youth with work and stuff. I think he accepted an apology from Eddie by the way as well as from the young girl. In fact, I think he did a good job asking people not to drag that 13 year old through the media and spoke with her personally. So let's just accept he does some good and that this must be significant enough to warrant two organizations to bestow such prestigious awards on him.

NO sportsperson should get the award.
It should be given to those less paid,out of the spotlight people who work tirelessly to better humanity.
& especially someone who Is supposed to be fighting against Racism & is quick to point the finger at an uneducated 13 yr old ,yet did NOTHING when an AFL boss made a racist joke about him .
