Oh it hurts doesn't it Raider? Sydney Swans still easily the biggest sporting club in NSW and on target for 40,000 members in 2014.

40,000 members. Wow, huge isn't it. :\:

My nieces husband was bought a Swans membership by his employer, guess what he will never go he is a Parra supporter.

Ho many other of their members will never go or have any interest at all in fumbleball. :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k
I call bullshit on that story. Why didn't he hand it back and say "No thank you. I'm a Parramatta supporter."?
He didn't want to offend the employer. BTW by employer I should have said my nephew in law is self employed and it was a client (the person who employed him). I guess he doesn't care about the membership. It may as well have been to the ballet (there is a resemblance I suppose).

This explains a lot

Seems some AFL fans can see through the Bullshit.

recently signed up my son and a friend to attend the Brisbane Lions Academy Summer Training program. Cost is $35 and for that you get an hour training with Academy coaches, and a tour of the Gabba facility. You also get a free bag/drink bottle and access to 3 games at the gabba.

I get a call yesterday from Lions Membership department asking me for the names of the boys for their 3 game memberships. Cheeky buggers! Anyone else know of other exercises like this?

&

When some clubs offer one game memberships with the purchase of any piece of merchandise, the numbers are enormously inflated and cannot in any way be relied upon.

Pet "members" shouldn't count, nor should any other reduced fee type of membership that was only created to artificially bump up the figures. I'd love to see the breakdown of memberships so we can find out what the real figures are and who is doing dodgy accounting to make themselves look more popular than they are!

The respective crowds show the true comparison of memberships, don't they :thumbleft:

It would be nice to know the difference between the membership numbers and the season ticket holder numbers.

AFL clubs release financial statements which show the revenue they earn from memberships is substantial. It has nothing to do with going broke, thats to do with spending too much, usually on their football departments like large coaching panels, medical teams etc
http://www.essendonfc.com.au/staticfile ... t_2012.pdf
Here's essendons 2013 annual report. They have about 50k members. It shows they earn over 9 million from membership revenue alone. Isnt that almost the raiders entire annual revenue? Lol

9 million eh
& yet the drug fucked scum lost 1.5 million last year
maybe they need to charge a bit more for their memberships then $10 a game eh dickhead ( my point here actually )  :_<> :_<> :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/

the Raiders turned over their usual 70 million in 2013
& popped 3 Mill in the bank after all the bills had been paid

do Essenturd need a lesson or 2 from us on how to make profits ?

maths aint your strong point is it Dave. 9.3m divided by 45k (2012 tally) equals $207 per membership. 12 home games so $17 per game for a membership package on average.

Total revenue for 2012 was over 60m. THis is the sporting clubs revenue and spending, not some attached business enterprise. The raiders sports club revenue is only around 12m with half of that a handout. The 70m you quoted is a business with seperate revenue and expenses, and not available to the raiders.

sporting club revenue
what do you think the Raiders group is you blithering fuckwit   :(/ :(/ :(/ :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<>

the Raiders FC own the group
they own the buildings the clubs are in ... the pokies
they own the revenue & profits these clubs generate

they also own property in 3 states
so overall they turnover 70 million a year ATM .... soon to be closer to 90 million when they start reaping income from their next property development at Braddon next to the Canberra CBD which they will own as well...
& their annual profits are tipped to hit 8 Mill a year by then

they will never be in financial crisis
they will always have money
they are a pocket dynamo where money is concerned

again
does Essenbong need a tip or 2 ?

So the Raiders sporting club have a revenue and sporting club spend of 70million do they? They can spend 70mil on their club can they?

Got anything to back this up?

Essendon have a revenue of around 60mil which is ALL available to the club to spend, not to pay expenses of a separate business

I don't think RD goes anywhere near a venue run by AFL clubs.

Are you claiming NRL leagues clubs arent primarily funded by poker machines?
