Since it was impossible NOT to see the hit coming when you're hit in the face! King hits are on the back of the head or over the ear.

Jesus H Christ you are dumb
& I mean Brain dead dumb.

I will give you One example ,of many scenarios.& this is one I have seen personally.

A bloke in Toowoomba yrs ago (well known king hitter ) had a trick where he would either
.Pinch a blokes nipple & when the bloke looked down to try to grab his hand he king hit him straight in the middle of the face ,smashing his nose all over the place
That is the One I seen him do .
The other he had a rep for was saying something about a blokes shoes(is that dogshit on there,or similar)& he would say this harmlessly with a smile on his face when the unaware bloke naturally looked down at his shoes .He was smashed, right in the middle of his face.

You have no fucking idea about this subject

Have you never seen someone tapped on the shouldrer & as they turn they get whacked straight in the face.
they have no idea its coming .

I think he finds your braindead logic funny.
You have NFI what a king hit is ,yet you are trying to give your version of it.

Just interested if any of the other AFL followers here agree with Crapper that " it is IMPOSSIBLE to king hit a person in the face"

Don't be shy.

I'm only answering this because of an infamous king hit that I take a very personal interest in. That was St.Kilda's Jim O'Dea clobbering Collingwood's John Greening in a blatant king hit to the back of the head. O'Dea put Greening into a coma and for awhile it looked as though he might have killed him. I was there for Greening's comeback match in 1974, but he was never the same after that. And as an umpire I absolutely hate king hits.

I looked at NRLC's definition, and it's actually quite subjective. By that I mean the following question needs to be asked; What is your definition of "face"?

I'll need an answer to that from NRLC before I'll commit myself.

(I'm ignoring that cheap shot from AFLC due to it's baiting and ill-informed nature)

And we all know how reliable you are on suck a subject, Dave!
What is your definition of "face"?
That is a ridiculous question, TLPG! Have you forgotten your anatomy all of a sudden? A face consists of the forehead, the eyes, the nose, the cheeks, the mouth and the butt of the jaw. Remember now?

But your reflection on Greening/O'Dea is exactly what I'm talking about. THAT was a king hit!

It's not a ridiculous question because I was just making sure you had it right, and you did except for the jaw as you limited it to the butt (ie the chin). The point is the face covers the whole front section of the skull. Now I'll give you the perfect example of a king hit that DID hit the face and break a person's jaw. Leigh Matthews on Neville Bruns. Bruns never saw it coming because Matthews wasn't even looking at him - and then WHAM! Right in the chops as they say.

You're trying to be technical with your definition and limit it by default. It doesn't work like that. It IS possible to strike the face and not be facing the person. Ever heard of a roundarm? That's what Matthews did for the record IIRC. Coming from behind is not essential for a king hit. It can also be done from the side, and from the side it is possible to hit someone in the face.

No Lethal didn't TLPG! He got Bruns over the ear! The only reason his jaw was busted was because of the sheer force of the blow that shook his whole face! We all know how tough Lethal was. Who could even forget the snapped goal post?

A round arm's connection with the head has to make contact to the side before the front, and the side takes the brunt of it. The only way that couldn't happen if if the puncher happens to have double jointed elbows!! Otherwise the shoulder has to make contact with the body before the blow is struck, and that take away the element of surprise essential to a genuine king hit!
