The T20 Big Bash League has started out smashing the ratings for Channel Ten averaging over 800,000 viewers for the opening session on Friday and sustaining large audiences throughout the weekend.
A day after more than 1.16 million capital city and regional viewers tuned into the start of Channel Ten's coverage of the Stars-Renegades clash, 1.13 million fans tuned into the Sydney Smash to see the Sydney Thunder up against the Sydney Sixers.
The Total Average Audience for the first 3 matches (Hurricanes v Strikers washed out) of the KFC T20 Big Bash League in BBL|03 is 1,139,533, with Average Total Reach of 2,413,249.
The numbers, which CA says are well beyond its expectations, are double the goal of 500,000 which the governing body and Ten agreed upon before the start of the competition.
In comparison other sports have an average audience of;
• NRL 2013 = 953,354 (FTA) + 238,723 (STV)
• AFL 2013 = 820,819 (FTA) + 202,643 (STV)
• A-League 2012-13 = 81,022 (STV)
• A-League 2013-14 = 204,286 (FTA – 1 match per round) + 87,784 (STV)
• Super 15 2013 = 59,174 (STV)
http://www.sydneythunder.com.au/news/20 ... 7irM5.dpuf
Extrapolate that to a full season = 112.2 for the AFL home and away season, and 101.2 for the longer NRL home and away season.

Extrapolate eh
Imagine that illiterate halfwit Swines making an effort at spelling that word folks

Oh Lordy Lordy
anyway
back to these figures Xman
so we add the finals figures to both comps... then RL gets to add its 17 million odd for its rep program for 2013.... maybe a couple of million more for the RLWC to 19 million
tell me
who was the most watched sport for 2013 Xman ?
Xman ??
are you there ??

So what you can gather from the posts on here.
Anything in the media that shows RL in a good light/numbers etc is WRONG,
& everything that shows AFL in a good light is spot on/gospel..
Talk about brainwashed

NO WE DON'T ADD THAT YOU GOOSE!!
The claim is about the NRL, not SOO or the RLToilet! Those are NOT NRL competition games!!
The NRL does NOT run all of rugby league! It runs one competition consisting of clubs in NSW, ACT, QLD, Victoria and New Zealand.

I think x man gave a good response to Dave's good post ... Shows figures and stats can be twisted and turned. Whilst I saw a response to the post from x man I haven't seen any proper responses to his post apart from Dave who seemed to acknowledge thevalidity of xmans post and made a good point about adding on figures for other games... I awaits mans response

The figures may be fine, but if they are they show the AFL winning the ratings every round by around 20% despite less prime time games and almost all concurrent games. They hardly flatter the NRL.
Got any others?

RL is mostly only broad cast in QLD & NSW, so of course the overall average will be higher, and in prime time. if they acturaly tried to grow the game, and broardcast games in non NRL cities, like every other state of Australia, the overall figures would plummet.
many AFL game's, like the saturday early and late afternoon games & sunday games are still shown on tv as well. which are far from prime time.
so its noting but false figures

but for the insecure stupid bumsniffers that you are you will not realize this.

Of the two competitions the AFL competition wins comfortably I'd say.

ummmm
so
if the NRL televised games in the other states n capitals .. increase its exposure to more people in more places , more cities towns & hamlets
the overall figure would .....
go down

Extrapolate. to estimate (the value of a variable) outside the tabulated or observed range.
What Xman did was correct the issue withOUT adding anything! And YOU were the one who claimed it was about all of rugby league when the link you were relying on clearly said "NRL"!!
So get it right, Dave!
