I think the Darwin League was taken over by nt rl?

Where do you get three leagues in Victoria ? I could only find the one that covers Melbourne and geelong?

In NRLC's defence, he didn't make a straight up statement that they were equal. He said "I'll bet", which insinuates that he didn't really know and he was just guessing. It was a nice try, but in the end it was a bit outlandish - even without including NT.
Wow.

I knew there was a chance I would be wrong, but not by that much! Outlandish? Nah. I honestly thought it was close.

So I was wrong. At least I have the balls to admit it in the face of genuine evidence.....unlike Dave!

Just an update per AFLC's note on the numbers in Darwin. Add 6 to the 57 clubs. The total is now 63 and confirmed. (Note I didn't count Katherine West because Katherine have their own league and I've already counted them)

You can add touch footy to those RL teams too.

Quite a dominant position if you ask me for RL over its rivals in the NT.

Anyone with a clue knew this years ago, but the propaganda department of one or two organisations didn't want the real picture painted.

Roy Masters touched on this subject a decade or so ago in an article titled 'winds of change" or something like that about the shift in television ratings and the letters begging Win/Ch9 to show the RL before the AFL esp in the Darwin area, and this was at the time ch9 had the rights to the AFL.

He was bang on.
