NRL memberships have improved quite a lot in recent years, doubled between 2009 and 2013. Dave Smith has some decent plans to double it again by 2017 and next year looks like it'll be another solid year for membership growth.

I think this is a good plan and as previously discussed psy3 the nrl could do worse than follow what the AFL have done. I think membership is one area they are doing this.

But they are still miles behind, given that the doubling has been from almost zero!!
