By Australian Aborigines originally. Were they British subjects before 1788?

That was a different game where they would stuff wallaby/possum skins with grass and kick it around there were no posts and no real scoring - closer to soccer than AF

Most modern historians generally recognise that the first football identifiable as Australian rules football was organised in Melbourne in 1858. In your opinion, and we all know what that's worth. There's a reason why Eliagh calls AFL "Marngrook". It's because that "immigrant" created that game from an Aboriginal game. Are you calling Aborigines 'English/Irish "*******"'?
No you silly knob head. I actually decided to term it marngrook primarily as a response against the ridiculously arrogant and naive naming of a sport as 'australian rules'. It's a sport which consequently will never be taken up seriously or professionally by other nations due to the incredibly arrogant naming of it after a country... [-X

You can just see the littlons in China, a country which by the way the AFL has recently spent more than 1 million shmackas promoting the sport, yes the littlons in china saying - "I want to play...Australian Rules..." and then...crickets chirping

so true, aussie rules will only be australian simply because it is called aussie rules.

similar with NFL, but at least there you can call it gridiron and they have the large advantage of being USA, so media dominance and the like.

well the AFL can take the NRL approach to spending money on promotion of its game, buy spending zero & live with their head in the sand & keep claiming the game is growing :(/

You are the one being naive - OS they call it FOOTY or the 9 a side version METRO footy - just because you don't like a name doesn't mean you get to name it - here it's called Australian rules or Aussie Rules - Marn Grook is not the same game - but may be related to it. NUPHY
