It will be interesting to see what ratings the NRL gf get this year given it has moved to 7pm Sunday night. This may give it a decent boost. It'll be hilarious if it gets beaten by a Saturday afternoon game.

If the vfl grand final rates 5th overall I will be totally amazed. Surely it would be the highest rating programme on the abc ... Do they even show it interstate ... We don't get it up here in qld?? I think the AFL grand final would be much bigger than the Vfl grand final ...I would even think that the south Australian national football league would rate higher than the Victorian football league wouldn't you think.

I will hedge a bet and say the AFL will beat the nrl on 5 city metro.

Phelpsy, I think the VFL is only shown in Victoria and Tasmania. The ABC show the SANFL in SA and the WAFL in WA I assume as they shown replays of all three in the middle of the night during the week. I don't know what they show in NSW or Queensland.

I think union ... Maybe they show the Vfl in Canberra on the abc ?

I doubt it. State borders would rule on that one, although the Riverina might see the VFL because their TV station is in Albury.

nah Phelpsy, we didnt get it up here. it was on last week, the box hill hawks, beat Geelong 2nds. the attraced nearly 16k to the game, almost out drawing the Storm game
but if assraiders figures are correct & rates 5 overall, that's a fantastic effort for the amateurs

Adding regionals, as they are australian people albeit not registered as such in the minds of our AFL supporters, the nrl will take the cake
