Surely the city with the biggest uptake of Foxtel would have had some viewers watching on Fox Footy right? I'd say at least 30,000 Sydney siders were watching on Fox Footy, bringing the total above the Melbourne ratings for the nRL.

even allowing for about 30K watching on FOX
that's 136K to 117K
do you think more then 19K more wouldn't have been watching the Storm next week in Melb for a GF Qualifier if they'd won last night ?
Who knows. What we do know is that the Swans ratings in Sydney > the Storm's in Melbourne. Plus the overall AFL ratings last night once again mauled the nRL's.

More victories to the AFL =D>

we know this
after just 2 years .... the Storm are achieving ratings in Melbourne that the Swines are .. after 30 in Sydney :(/ :(/ :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<> :_<>

& the NRL is matching the VFL in finals ratings with just one form of coverage
to the VFL's.... 2

take out the dodgey part of the pay VFL ratings
& the NRL wins easily
the swans haven't had 30 years of prime time FTA coverage dickhead :^o

from day one cockhead .... 30 years

Superb lil piece of research dave. Two quite comparable events and looky what's happened. The most valid comparison I've seen on these boards in some time.

One lil extra galvanising variable the AFL supporters seem to have conveniently left out of their quite failing responses is the fact the ol swannies have 10s perhaps 100s of thousands of supporters in melbourne from the ol south melb days. Or...perhaps on raiders research we should now say "the swannies 'had' 10s of thousands of supporters..."

Again dave, take a bow. =D> =D> =D>

As Xman said, the Swans haven't been going into Sydney live in prime time for 30 years you fucking liar. Also, maybe if the nRL had bigger TV ratings Fox Sports would make a dedicated nRL channel with a simulcast of ch9 games? But having said that, Fox Footy doesn't add extra ratings. If there was no FF, tho 400k or so that watched on FF last night would be watching the game on channel 7/mate.

Dave ... When you add pay tv figures in I think the swans would have easily had more? I think you forgot pay tv of which a large percentage would come from nsw

a large %

try about 33% of the FTA audience

about 30K
its probably less then that

but if 100% of Sydneys population that has access to free TV don't give a fuck about the fumbles n bumbles
why would a third who have pay TV be any different

face it
the Swines are an irrelevance in Sydney & this weekend simply proves it beyond doubt

Top average attendance of any sporting team in Sydney by over 6000 per game suggests otherwise doesn't it Dave? :?>

about 80K sets of peepers regularly watch the Swines in Sydney when they play at home at the ground & on TV combined
out of a population of 5 million

an under 20's NRL game in Sydney would attract nearly that many :(/ :(/ :(/ :_<> :_<> :_<>
