This is glorious. In a thread about Swans crowds that DAVE STARTED HIMSELF, he has now retreated back into an irelevant argument about TV ratings.

I'm sorry but no one has been able to answer any questions relating to the Swines sufficiently

I asked where the 30K from ten years ago have gone
indeed
where have the 4K from last year gone

was

ANZ a novelty last year too F wit ? :-k

:(/ :(/ :_<> :_<> :_<>

the fact the Swines are watched by the least amount of people each week coupled with their obvious decline in support as I have alluded to
go
hand in hand

Please explain......

the Swines in 2003 almost ten years ago to the day last night , drew a crowd of 72,394 to ANZ against Collinsfart
the Swines weren't the premiers :-k

last year they drew 46,000 to the same clash on a cold winter night
again
they weren't the premiers last year & no one really thought they were doing enough to win the title anyway

yesterday on a balmy glorious ... spring type night in Western Sydney
as the defending premiers of the fumbles n bumbles , the bench mark .. the comp favourites

up against the self anointed world famous Melbourne suburb of Collinmond, biggest team in the universe apparently :-k .. who brought about 10K fans with them

they attracted just
42,000 8-[

ahhhhhhhh
so Fumblers

where have the fans of the supposed most popular team in NSW gone in the last 10 years ? :?>
where have they gone since last year 8-[

30,000 fans who were there watching ten years ago
these days couldn't give a fuck about the fumbles n bumbles .. even when the Swines are the premiers
I mean imagine if they were just mid table :-k

thoughts fumblers ....?

wow
the decline, the massive decline
tis there for all to see
This is quite simple. Ten years ago ANZ was a new novelty,

:(/ :(/ :_<> :_<> :_<>

but but

but but but

but but but
I dunno RD - why has the Raiders home ground average dropped by 2k a match since 2011? And 7k since 1994? Sounds like decline to me in the Capitol!

Swines, the raiders aren't the premiers.

I must say I found the novelty argument almost valid...almost. However, raiders right, the decline continues, even whilst the swans are premiers and in fantastic form, and their rivals on the night - also in superb form and making a run for the top4.

Folks I was at the game and apart from the decline in crowd I must comment on the decline in passion. It's like the swans winning a premiership was the novelty and now supporters don't turn up and those that do don't really care. No one was showing any passion within earshot of me. Not one and I was apparently in the "red zone". I mean there was 40k there, still a decent crowd, but they barely raised an eyelid or peeped a peep as colingwood came back, took control of the match and made the swans their bitches. No, not a peep.

I can only say it was...disappointing.

I'm curious too but I think I know the answer. I've mentioned it on these very boards some time ago. The answer to your curiosity dave, is that sydney siders, by and large, see the AFL competition and the sport of marngrook as an utter and complete..."novelty". It's not stadium Australia at all. It's the sport. Ive said it before but all bar a few at the matches are Chardonnay sipping unmarngrook educated tools with nothing else to do on the weekend. No passion from them, it's just...a novelty.

ANZ Stadium is like AAMI Stadium I presume. When there's a much better stadium in the city (or very close to it in Sydney) and a soulless white elephant out in the suburbs, the soulless white elephant will continue to lose its appeal to fans every year until something is done about it like a redevelopment. Drac is right, the stadium was a novelty for the first 5 or so years the Swans were playing there. But now they realise the stadium's a fucking hole and the SCG is so much better. Once the Swans deal with ANZ expires in 2016, I don't think we'll be seeing them play there again, unless ANZ pay the Swans some serious coin.

Well don't know how well he hears but pretty clear on the telly the Sydneeeey chant went up alot during the match and crowd appeared vocal - I wasn't there so I can only take it on face value - I did go to Syd v WB and the crowd was very vocal - sat in medallion and could hear it everywhere particularly from the Swans end (which is the die hard section that travels interstate and cheer group). Have been to ANZ on 3 occasions and the ground sucks would rather see them at the SCG

Yeah I know he didn't go, just discussing further how ANZ has lost its novelty value to most fans.

Oh I was there and I must say my comments go for the scg also, which I've been to a few times this season. The passion? Electricity? It just ain't there. At melb AFL matches? I felt it last year. At nrl matches in sydney this year? Yep it was there. AFL in syd? A few thou into it and singing chants... The majority? There for the novelty factor.

Culture/passion for the AFL in syd? Ke knows where it's at :afro:

Eliagh, one doesn't have to be there to know that you are a barefaced liar. I saw the game on the box and the crowd was into it as long as the Swans were a chance to win.

KE pretends to work both sides but when was the last positive post he has made? Well never! His perception is obviously tainted with his love for RL - I was the first to admit that the crowd for Storm v Sths was a good crowd for RL but average for a melb crowd - you won't get that from KE. The fact remains that we often hear from RD that the Raiders are number one in Canberra - yet their crowds have dropped along with 13 others and all the Sydney RL clubs - including last years runner up. So one can only ask is this drop a Sydney /NSW thing is other cities not dropping - is it a trend in sport is it a trend in the AFL/NRL due to the recent drug issues. But to point the finger at the Swans who remain the club with the highest attendance average, largest membership and the most sponsored as a sign that they are failing is misleading! Being without objective would lead to such analysis - KE does not and thats why he is a disgruntled RL supporter who wants to just kick AF!
