Your other argument is also trash. I for one hope GWS develop into a solid second Sydney squad. There's enough people in this city to support it. However the AFL's decision to 1: place a team called Greater Western Sydney a stones throw from Sydney harbour and 2: Place a bunch of 18year olds together to make a team to play against hardened professional men is both disrespectful and incredibly stupid.

I stand corrected, and open the floor to other GWS members on this forum to state whether they agree with you or me. I think you'll find none of them are preparing to tear their memberships up any time soon. We AFL fans are a loyal and patient bunch.

North, who came within a kick of beating Hawthorn and Geelong, are one of the most ordinary teams in the last few decades. Right up there with Fitzroy in the 90s, Footscray in the early 90s, Melbourne of the last 2 years, and Brisbane of 2011. How absurd.

I thought it quite pertinent that one of the commentators said, with 15 minutes to go in the second quarter and with a tone of utter objectivity, that "northmelbourne will win". That was when I switched over to watch what is a wonderfully competitive match between Brisbane and Auckland on channel 9.

King the only way forward for GWS is for the AFL to pay Buddy Frankling a 7million 4 year contract to move to GWS.


That is the only quick fix i can see...........

I cant agree with you here eels. You're right in a sense, Buddy would help, but he alone will not be enough for a team which would be floundering at the bottom of the VFL let alone the AFL. No it needs drastic action. I'd suggest two players from each of the top four clubs would prob get em out of their doomed position. The AFL should do it quick before season 2014, share the players around and fix the comp. But alas, we all know the head honchos down at AFL hq are a pack of fattening nincompoops on bloated wages. Ohwell I guess it'll take 30 years then and a whole lotta money down the drain...enough $$$ to bring several third world nations out of poverty Lordy lordy my, what shameful waste.

Drac north melb are an ordinary run of the mill, battling to get in the 8 but wont, boring to watch, making up the numbers team. Melb and those other squads you mention are utterly shite basketcases. Big difference matey. Please refer to my "options for a lopsided comp" thread for more info.

Yes you're quite correct here RD. Beaussie is a gws member and a swans member, however to the best of my knowledge he has not been to a gws match this year, apart from the swans game. Basically he's throwing money away for nicks...

oh i forgot to add a in there, just want to attract the AFL's biggest star to the worst team in history...........taking away another big AFL star from its heartland all for the sake of expansion would make me lough even harder at these southerners........... :_<> :_<> :_<>

Not for one second do i think it would fix the problems of GWS, it would stop some of the bleeding in the short term but if they build a team around him it could work in 5 or so years time.
