It was a couple poorly aimed punches, if I want to see a real fight I will watch some UFC, the biff in RL is generally quite poor compared to UFC, kick boxing or boxing. All that Gallen showed was that if you are upset about something it is ok to walk up to the guy who upset you and punch him in the face. The issue is that when this happens on the street the guy you punch bangs his head on the concrete and it ends up being manslaughter. Plenty of friends of David Hookes will tell you this.

What nonsense. Clearly a king hit, his hands wouldn't have been by his side if he was ready for it. Clearly a poor role model and he is the captain as well. Put your hand up if you are happy with your kid punching another kid at a sporting activity because he doesn't like the way another kid goes about playing sport. I can't believe that you are supporting his actions - you are such a child - Barry Hall got 7 for hitting Staker - Gallen should have got at least 5, it was a gutless cowardly low act, it's not boxing, he wouldn't have the guts to face him in the ring but hit him when he wasn't prepared. You supporting his actions show what a gutless wanker you are too, you'd be the sort that would stand behind one of your mates giving lip, you are a coward as well. It is not in the spirit of the game, and RL failure to act shows what a weak sport it is!

Seriously you AFL cowards hold a ridiculously idealistic view of the world. That being that rules governed by officiating bodies is the be all and end all and will effectively control violence. Sorry sunshinesbut this shots been going on since humans walked thus planet. There'll always be the bully who teachers referees umpires judges police etc etc do not see and are unable to act on and defend those who are bullied. Always. There's a time and a place that standing up for yourself and teammates is a beautiful and praiseworthy and pride building thing to do. Fallen did it. And all children should be taught this for the sake of their mental well being. Phelpsy I'm sorry for your kid if thus ***** got him for no reason. Teach your kid that if the ref don't see it, to snot him good next time.

the comparison in our game

a gutless cowardly act much in the vein of that yellow bellied sheila Halls piss weak effort

Williams got 18 weeks

making the 7 Hall got look as soft & inadequate .. as it gets
the VFL were kidding [-( [-( [-(

don't lecture us on appropriate punishments
we own them
while your code is a joke when the blow torch is applied

low gutless acts & the people responsible for them are hammered in our game

straighten your skirt while yr at it you Shelia
I can't believe that you are supporting his actions - you are such a child - Barry Hall got 7 for hitting Staker - Gallen should have got at least 5, it was a gutless cowardly low act, it's not boxing, he wouldn't have the guts to face him in the ring but hit him when he wasn't prepared. You supporting his actions show what a gutless wanker you are too, you'd be the sort that would stand behind one of your mates giving lip, you are a coward as well. It is not in the spirit of the game, and RL failure to act shows what a weak sport it is!

OMG ... the hypocrisy & stark dumbness
Barry Hall's effort was a king hit
the guy he hit was not looking at him ... & did not invite a retaliation

the comparison in our game
Danny Williams of the Storm.... who KING HIT ... Mark O Neil of the Tigers in 2004
a gutless cowardly act much in the vein of that yellow bellied sheila Halls piss weak effort

Williams got 18 weeks

count em .... 18 weeks
making the 7 Hall got look as soft & inadequate .. as it gets
the VFL were kidding [-( [-( [-(

don't lecture us on appropriate punishments
we own them
while your code is a joke when the blow torch is applied

low gutless acts & the people responsible for them are hammered in our game
the record speaks for itself

to compare that to Gallens & Myles effort on Wednesday is laughable .. simply .. laughable

Unfortunately what you just said just shows your ignorance. To effectively celebrate one man punching another is to encourage others to do the same. Unfortunately uncontrolled violence and assault results in man slaughter, just ask the family of people like David Hookes. Everyone in a fight has some way of justifying their role in the fight and in everyone's mind the other guy is usually to blame. Just introduce alcohol and concrete and the result is death and brain damage. This is a weekly occurrence in OZ.

Perhaps the NRL should consider a video review process like the AFL has .

yes .. the NRL has never heard of Video review

oh the dumbness
the rampant dumbness
I am referring to post match video reviews for reportable incidents, not the instant review of tries.

we were the first to use video review in this country you dribbler
For reportable incidents? No they weren't, and the NRL don't use it even now. They only use video review for tries on the day.

Irrespective of the definition of king hit, violence is never the answer for a dispute. This is why assault is a criminal offence. Gallen's example was a disgrace and rightfully criticised.
