IMO this isnt a choice made by them at all, their club either turns out to be a shitpile merged heap of crap or its relocated to a diff state where they can barely watch them live ie at the home ground.
Which ain't better than the alternative of folding alltogether hey?

I'd like to see a poll on how many original fans of sth melb swans were and are happy with the merge? I reckon the majority arent but continue to follow because again their choice was taken away from them.
As I said earlier, if more of these fans turned up to games, bought memberships etc this whole debate wouldn't need to happen. It is their choice as to how they will support their club. No use crying when the writing has been on the walls for years. How many times do the Western Bulldogs and Kangaroos have to tell their fans that their support is needed if the club is to survive.

If there are too many teams well so be it. I'd still follow my team even if they relocated.

I never said tradition was ridiculous, but clearly there has to be a balance between tradition and a club standing on its own feet financially. If the finances aren't there, well tough luck, move or merge and create those finances necessary to run a club in the big league. Failing that, there's always the VFL.
