"what happened over at the MCG is not the ANZAC game. Essendon and Collingwood isn't the ANZAC game. St. Kilda and Sydney is not the ANZAC game. This, Storm vs. warriors, is the ANZAC game."

This from St. Kiddyfiddler's number one ticket holder.

The Essendon V Collingwood game is the reason why there are currently 4 ANZAC day games. It is the original and the only one with any sort of tradition.

Dave's right again folks.

THe AFL pregame ANZAC day celebration is on right now and they've wheeled out scores of ex servicemen and women. All Aussies. Not one of them from New Zealand....Quite disrespectful to the tradition of the ANZACS [-X

What on earth is wrong with this organisation? Does anyone involved actually have a brain?
How dare they honor the Australians Anzacs in Australia! [-X

but forget about the other half of the alliance that stood & fought beside us ... & died along side us ?

only arrogant Karmichaels would do that
& I present for your consideration

the VFL ..... [-( [-( [-(

Don't know of any of the services that specifically mention NZ they only ever commemorate those that have fallen - unless you can provide some evidence to the otherwise ur full of BS. Its an ANZAC day game becuase as I have pointed out on numerous times it is fully endorsed by the RSL the official body. What has East Syd and Dragons got to do with NZ other than they play a NZ side twice a year and some of their players may have NZ heritage? Unless they are specifically endorsed as NZ representatives it is not relevant!

all references to the actual ANZAC landings .. on the actual day April 25th 1915 ... & this being the day we now observe & remember
never single out Australia by itself
we were one with our Kiwi brothers on this day

& only one sport observes & respects this tradition
the fact nearly half of the 34 players at the SFS were Kiwi more then qualifies that game to be genuine
& the one in Melb is as fair dink as you'll get

everything else

a pale imitation
a sham
a fraud [-X [-X [-( [-( [-(

Raiderdave, it is to comemorate our contribution, it was named ANZAC as it stood for Australian and NZ corp not because we fought with them but they landed in Gillipoli together. We fought WITH Briton, Canada, USA, Fiji, China (Japan in WW1, against Japan in WW2) etc etc. Germany and Japan now both have contingents in Afganhistan but thats not the point - the point of the day to to remember Australians that have fallen in war. Just the same as in NZ they remember Kiwi's that have fallen serving THEIR country. The only requirement for it to be an ANZAC game in rememberance of this day is that the proper respects are show (i.e. formal salute) AND it is supported by the RSL, which both codes are. Believe it or not Victorians, Tasmanians, South Australians and West Australians have, are and will serve their country. It is not just New South Welshman and Kiwis that have served! Your points are in extremly bad taste and poorly made - you have persisted with these points with little understanding or appreciation of what the day means or represents. I find you truly offensive and you should be ashamed of your self. It appears to me that no one who has had relatives who have served and been lost in these wars could possible make the statements you make for some silly point like this. I pitty that you can't help yourself!

Don't respond to Dave when he makes stupid posts. Do you really think he is going to say something positive about the AFL or that you will convince him otherwise ? The AFL could have the highest ratings, highest membership , highest crowds ...... Oh wait ... They do. But Dave would still find something negative to say. KE is just having a bit of fun trolling ... Whilst claiming intellectual superiority lol. All they can do is focus on any negatives . I'm bit sure why, if the AFL dies well in Sydney it Canberra or anywhere , how does it affect there enjoyment of nrl ? It doesn't . Just as if nrl does really well in Melbourne how does it affect anyone in Melbourne enjoying their AFL if that is their code of choice . And why aren't melbournians worried about the storm or nrl in general like people like Dave, eels , dogs etc ?? I leave KE out as I know he's quietly chuckling to himself :) when we respond to his posts .. Ill give him that.. He sucks me in far too much for my liking lol. But to the others , ask yourself, how dies one code doing well in any particular market affect your enjoyment of your own code of choice ?

Agree entirely, I think what really annoys is they send in endless replys when you really want to read someones point of view. I think there is room for both and as both are doing well, (both have higher attendances) I think it proves this. I do however draw the line with ANZAC day, all jokes aside its a day that makes me appreciate what some have given and how hard it would be for familes that have lost one of their own for me and mine. I get offended because no one should be-little what the day means for them, regardless of what sport they follow, Ron Barrassi's dad died at Trobruk how would he feel? That was my point!

Like I said its a day not about politics, footy or religion but to commemorate fallen soldiers, I have no issue with whatever sex a person chooses to sleep with - your question is purely an exercise in some how claiming the moral high ground which your previous posts about no kiwi being involved with ANZAC day. If ur that interested in the rights and oppression of gay people join a rights organisation. How about you acknowledge that it is a day to remember fallen Australian servicemen (in Australia) and retract your previous comments! Leave the stupid comments and ignorant opinions to Raiderdave! Until then your his bitch and a clone!

I've not said any comments which disrespect the notion of ANZAC day. So I wont retract any comment you clown.

But how's about you retract your clear violent homophobic statements you made when you waltzed on into this forum? You've not only highlighted your ignorance but you've shown a violent disrespect for all gay people, whether they be ANZACS, sportspeople, judges, politicians, teachers etc etc etc. "Stupid and ignorant" is you ya big homophobe pussy.

Comprehende my bitch?

Another all original post brought to you by KE.

All over ya swines, allllllll ova ya!
