The AFL dominates no areas in NSW Raiderdave says. Stewie corrects him with AFL dominating the Far West NSW area thanks to Broken Hill being the only major centre there. =D>

Broken Hill is actually a city dickhead and is the only one in this area. It's the bigger than any of the other small towns, and Australian Football is easily the biggest sport in Broken Hill.

Australian Football dominate Far West NSW.

but bigger then all the other towns in far western NSW combined
nope.. it aint

there isn't another town from the area involved in the Broken Hill league
because the rest of the ..... AREA
has no time for the bumbling Victorian game ... none at all

The other small towns have tiny populations and sport would not be popular there. Football in Broken Hill easily accounts for any other sport in the area.

total population of Western NSW ( Sth Aust Border to Nyngan .. North to the Qld border & South to Wilcania )
is in excess of 100K
Broken Hill has around 25K of this only

Broken Hill accounts for a massive quarter of that population, nice. As Australian Rules is so much more popular than any other sport in the city, I'd be very confident it's the biggest sport in the area. =D>

Nice summary.. I guess it puts into perspective the arguement some use re NSW and qld make up 55 percent ... That only works if you count all of NSW as nrl ???
That's the "electorate" argument. i.e. NSW and Qld have aproximately 50% of Australia's population and rl is the dominant code at professional popularity level so rl "owns" 50% of the Australian population.

But as we know outside of NSW and Qld is basically heavily AFL, Qld is relatively even and NSW has some serious AFL support.
