That's interesting Dave. Do they put a breakdown of where there supporters are based as I would be interested to see where they do come from. I could understand the swans and Brisbane would have a few Victorian members given the clubs history but would think that the Gold Coast suns would not be that much. What would boost the suns membership was that every child that registered to play at an AFL junior club on the coast got a three game membership. That would be a couple of thousand just there maybe.

it was reported its 33% of the total number .. for both clubs , do not reside in either Sydney or Brisbane
with the Midgets its 66%
with the Swines .. some of theirs live in the Riverina 500K's from Sydney , so it may as well be Victoria

this is the reason why the number of swines members can be as low as half of their total membership tally
& why Midgets crowds in Sydney will not get within cooee of theirs

Memberships will be up this year
The AFL smashed the nRL by 10 million in tv ratings last year
The AFL's media deal was bigger than the nRL's deal

Common put in your source, I dare you, show us where u got this 33% outside Syd membership, show us where this 66% GWS membership outside syd. You can't if you could you would. Anyway are you saying NRL teams are superior because their totally 100% Syd based, Collingwood have 70k plus, the reason their so big is because they can come from anywhere in Australia, unlike you brain dead, neanderthal, fudge packing RL followers, we don't just follow a team because we live there. hmmm..... every year since pretty much memberships started for the VFL in the mid 80's , the quoted % have not changed much .. only the actual number you blithering F head ,

further proof is the laughable attendances these sides garnish against their membership tallies
