the storm had an advert age of 12,685 per game in the home and away season  =D>
so going buy those figures the storm and rebels are par.
considering the rebels where only founded in 2010, & the storm 1998, you could say that the rebels have generated a great deal of interest in 3 years as to the storms 15.
with all of the storms success, & the endless useless articles the herald sun (news limited) runs on them to generate interest some interest, is further proof most people dont give a shit about the storm or the nrl, in melbourne

but but but

fact
when the rabble can get 905K Melbournians to watch them .... do anything .. anywhere

come see me then
til then

you're a cockhead
oi Raiderdave, not sure where your pulling your figures from, but surley if the figures where that good youd think channel 9 would put the game on live, or well at least before 11.30pm

Membership figures please, Aus. Don't skirt around it. And expect at least 15 to 16K for the Storm's first games for the season.

both teams appear .... mainly on pay TV

Rabbles games, even against other Australian S15 sides barely make it to 80K
Storm games regularly crash through the 300K barrier on pay
I'd say 10% of both audiences come from Melbourne

so, the Storm have
Bigger Crowds
more Members
& infinetly more interest in the broader medium of TV

then the Rabble

good thread Bearsy

Storm >>>> Rabble in Melbourne

the Dogs ( GF re-match) in rnd 3 on Thursday night at AAMI will pull a big crowd too I'd say Striker if promoted properly
Its a shame James Graham won't be back in time to add some

bite

to the clash

Storm are smashing the rah rahs, last home game for each had 25,000+ for the storm while the union lot had around 11,000 give or take a few.

You're suggesting their level of support can be indicated by their games interstate? Surely your not that dumb!

they are doing better in NSW, than they are at home, the storms figures look better than what they are, thanks to the buy one ticket get one free they have done for the last 2 games

Melbourne Rebels 13,914 for 2012
Melbourne Storm 12,685 for 2012
pretty embarrassing for the storm, world beaters, compared to a new team that has finished 15 & 13 in their only 2 seasons,
will get only worse for the storm when news ltd eventuraly finds a buyer! all that free promotion will end!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Austr ... es_by_Code

overall crowd averages for Union vs league
Super Rugby 21,624
NRL 16,826
only goes to show even the union gets better crowds than the league

No i am saying that their level of support at home outstrips the rebels and there away crowd ave is the largest in the NRL.

Make of the away ave what you will, but the storm are leaps and bounds ahead of the rebels and have the ARLC/New ltd as backers. The rebels do not have this type of support.
