Depends on your definition of many. 12k for a single city team that has dominated the comp for a decade is a disgrace. It certainly doesn't qualify as many. But I suppose it probably is in nRL standards

And you're forgetting those who don't go because of either the shit current venue (AAMI Park) or the Nazi security at Etihad. 20K total I estimate, and it would be more if we had equal space in the papers and we DON'T! But then the Age and the Herald Sun have never been very fair to the Storm, probably because the AFL and the Victorian clubs pay them for the paper space!

Your estimation isnt based on any facts at all! where are these 20k? How did you even come up with that number?

The papers print stories they think will sell papers. Very few people outside nsw and qld like RL. Why would the papers print stories that don't sell them papers?

All we hear from you is excuses! . If people genuinely like RL they will go irrespective of the stadium or media coverage, especially given the massive success of the team, and the recognisable stars they have.

Its easy to sit there and watch any old program. Getting up, travelling to the ground, paying your hard earned, and standing in the wind and rain is real support.

Only dickheads do that. Real support comes from watching the games on TV as advertisers see ratings and pay for the advertising space. Pay per view like I said. Yeah crowds work as well, but you aren't going to get them with shit venues! The AFL (AFIAK) don't have any and haven't since Waverley Park was shut down. And even now they're trying to improve them further thanks to government support. The NRL on the other hand can't get squat from the pollies and that's a hold up for us!

Hmm, AFL dont have any poor stadiums......they have one indoor stadium! The rest are all exposed to the wind and rain, and almost all are centrally located forcing fans to travel going on your opinion all these would be poor options.

NRL fans have their chance to attend games at decent stadiums. They prefer the TV.

As for TV revenue, the NRL will earn 200M this year from TV. The AFL will earn a bit more but probably the same again from memberships and gate receipts. Thats why we will continue to earn far more than the NRL

When I last checked, the MCG murders every NRL venue I know for protection from the elements. So do all the others! We have only one half decent stadium in the whole country, well actually make that two (ANZ and Suncorp). Don't you dare tell me that Penrith, Campbelltown, Kogarah, Brookvale, Leichardt, the Gong, Newcastle, Allianz, Skilled, Townsville, Bruce or even AAMI Park or Parramatta are decent stadiums!! They aren't and if you had actually seen them and been in them you'd know that! Who has the biggest average crowd of all the clubs in Sydney? Canterbury! Where do they play their home games? ANZ!! Now if they can get their feral fans out of that hole at Belmore and going to ANZ they'd beat the Broncos on crowd average!

That's interesting. I know many league fans in Sydney who say the SFS or Allianz is the best stadium for the rectangular codes. Seems to be a lot of hate for ANZ up here in Sydney. Not sure why exactly.

The few Melbourne friends I have who also support the Storm say AAMI Park is a fantastic purpose built stadium and they hate Etihad as they say they are too far from the game. Melbourne Storm crowd averages are embarrassing considering how good a team they are on the field and being from a sports mad city like Melbourne.
