If this happened to an nRL club (which is probably has and still is), no doubt they wouldn't have called for an investigation or even told the nRL. Heck, they wouldn't have even fired any of their medical staff.

Well this will end up as media hysteria and thats it. They listened to a stupid ex player in Kyle Reimers, who basically didnt understand his fitness program last year, or had an ax to grind.

Just now on sports SEN, (podcast if you want) ex player Mark McVeigh explained these things:

- the Essendon players were asked to undergo a new fitness regime last year which was introduced by a new fitness staff

- the players specifically requested a consent form be drafted by the club which included guarantees by the club and the AFL that the medications were legal under WADA. They were clearly informed about every supplement they were given.

- a select group of players were taken to a sterile clinic environment for vitamin B12 injections rather than the non-sterile club environment.

- the clubs medical staff including Dr Bruce Reid were fully aware of the contents and legality of the supplements and were totally supportive.

All I can say is: FAN-BLOODY-TASTIC!!! :\: :\: :\: :\: :\: :\:

What an absolute shmozzle this organisation, the AFL, has gotten itself into. It's as clear as day folks. It starts from the top and is trickling on down through to the bottom i.e. essendon. The fatcats down at AFL HQ are chompin doughnuts and dreaming up ridiculous policies. I mean this isnt primary school where the teacher should teach good morals and put in place rules/policies for students to 'own up' for what they did wrong. We're talking about fukkin adults and a multi million dollar organisation here.

And that is all she wrote boys, AFL a game with no credibility......................................A theater company as AFL journos have said in the past...................

Where's the evil dipshit? ASADA haven't released a result yet. All thats been claimed so far has come from a delisted player who couldn't understand why he had to sign a waiver, even though it wasnt!

My favourite lines.

InterviewerL "Is that doc reid you're talking about?"

McVeigh "Yeah absolutely. Theres no way any player wouldve taken anything unless the doctor said 'no dont touch it'"

 Freudian slip much?

McVeigh: "To say that i didnt know what was going into my body is absolutely ridiculous, I think. In my opinion it is ridiculous." I think? In my opinion? the poor man doesnt have a clue what the doctors and trainers were forcing him to take. :_<>

That doctor is extremely well respected in AFL circles. He's been part of the club for 30 odd years. I refuse to believe he would have knowingly fed PEDs to his players.

I don't care what you say. That just isnt possible.

The biggest claim Reimers made was that he was made to sign a waiver. McVeigh explained it perfectly, stating it actually explained that the supplements were legal and cleared by WADA and the AFL. ASADA have collected these documents as evidence.

In explaining this McVeigh has implicated the AFL, ESSENDON, and their staff. I refuse to believe he would do that if he didnt know the truth about their innocence.

:?> Yes you're prob right. If he knew anything he would have kept his trap shut. But he knew nothing. Any detective worth their training, or anyone who aint blindfreddy, can tell mcveigh had no idea what the hell was going on! He basically says it straight out in his lil interview
