KingE, So there are only 1 Sydney Swans fan for every 10K people in Sydney. That means that there are only 500 Swans fans in Sydney. Come on mate you must have been drinking when you made those stats up.

pies, that was not actually anything near what I said. I said 1 in 10k would know more than 3 swans players right? And given my experience at the swannies games with members, i'd say im not far off the mark. THere's a small base of fanatical fans who breath the game, then there's your 10k or so melbourne members/fans who would prob know more than 3 players. and then there's the rest of em yelling out "comon ref" and "go goodesy"...because he's the only one they know

Dont get me wrong I've been one of these mongas too. Took me years to know more than 3 players and get used to saying ump etc. I mean i still call the players on the interchange bench players. RL culture is just heavily ingrained in sydney, there's no denying it.

Now get with the program pies, you're starting to slip into AFL deluded fan mode. It'd be sad to see you become yet another simple simon in the bunch

A Swans Fan (a real one not one of the pretend 2 million Swans fans) in Sydney would know more then 3 Swans players so what I said was quite accurate. But according to you only 500 people in Sydney know 3 or more Swans players (a real Swans fan). No offence but you are splitting hairs on this one. Now say to the thread I KE stuffed up. Be the bigger man then RadierDave or ParraEelsNRL and say I was wrong, more then 500 people in Sydney know more then 3 Swans players. If I made a simple error like that then I would happily say I made a mistake.

I'll admit of course i dont know the exact figures. Perhaps it'd be 1000. But seriously, I know that the majority of fans at the game are chardonnay sipping tools in red and white who actually dont know the rules or the game but just go out there for something to do. Now pies you have failed to recognise this point and are overly focussed on the numbers here. Yes there's thousands of "swans fans" in sydney, but I'm telling you, a minority of those "fans" know much about the game or the swans players, including their names. Get yourself out to some swans matches and walk around the stands and see for yourself.

I will take your point about Swans fans on board (you know a lot more about this then me. Perhaps Beaussie would know more on this though) and also accept what you said as I was wrong on the numbers (reading in between the lines). Your only human and you cant always get everything right. You have to let us AR fans dominate on occasions or we would never come back to the website.

Yes good call pies. And perhaps beaussie would know some more about the fans but we all know he's quite biased when it comes to his beloved swannies and their support. He would know pretty much all the fanatical fans though and on my take having been to after match functions etc, that bunch wouldnt number much more than 500... So all in all you've learnt me a thing here pies. I might stretch my number to 2000 sydneyites who know 3 or more swannies players names. Still an abysmal number.
