Heres a few little secrets for you Dave:
- not every member goes to every game. Memberships give the club money which is the reason AFL fans take them out. Many would only intend on attending maybe 75% of games.
- there is such a thing as a non-attendance membership for people who live in other states or in the country.

Either way, they pay their money to the club which is the reason for the membership

wow .. out comes the VFL calculator
since when as 7.8 Million been 80% of...... 61 Million

& again
Carltendon probably turned a tiny profit ... or none at all ... like most VFL clubs , meanwhile the Raiders posted a 3.4 Million dollar after tax profit
so they aren't on a knifes edge like carlthorn ... who can't afford any downturn in revenue streams
any drop for any length of time & they're in deep do do

the Raiders are going along just fine & as they increase their memberships like all NRL clubs are , & get handed millions more TV bucks .. while only increasing their costs slightly
well its a cherry on the cake for this lil pocket dynamo of a club

Well if you read their annual report Carlton made a 2mil profit.

Their 7.8m from memberships is nearly 80% of the raiders entire football budget which includes the money the received from their business arm, and also the grants they got from the NRL and the ACT government.
