So your proof is your eyes?

How about their members. Are you questioning them as well?

Of course the NRLs crowds are all legit but the AFL fudge them right? Interesting how the NRL crowds are questioned by even their own media and fans. Except you of course.

What? There isn't one excuse in that statement, just a comment how the NRLs crowds are the ones being constantly questioned, not the AFLs. And rightly so.

jurnos in your rigged sport are not allowed to question the VFL
they all know the midgits crowds are one of the biggest jokes in Australian sport but are not free to report it for fear of being locked out of the game
... North Korean jurnos have more freedom

our reporters report what they see without fear

Come on, Raid, you aren't helping!

X, let's get real here. The AFL are on a crusade to dominate the country. They are so desperate to dominate Sydney they'll throw in the kitchen sink if they have to in order to make it work.

The NRL has no such desperation. We have an independant commission now and it will take it's time and put on the occassional game in Perth to build interest. The ratings will follow and they will be better than what the AFL ratings are in Sydney because it will be one team. It took the VFL three years of Sydney games to get it done. So give it a chance.

I don't get too involved in ratings debates because IMO they are genuinely flawed however they are best device so far in measuring TV ratings. AS such they allow us to make comparisons as some generalisations. The ratings displayed in Perth are phenominally poor and the only conclusion to be drawn is that nobody is watching rl on Perth TV. From a statistical point of few they must picked up a sole viewer!!
Nice try Cos.

All the more reason to bring the game to Perth through matches for competition points. It was already mentioned about the 20,000 crowd previously. I want to see at least two games in Perth in 2013.

I guess the attendances and ratings for Perth NRL games and past history of a team there gives us some guide that there is some interest in the NRL.

I guess you then look at the AFL taking a game over to Wellington for a special (ANZAC Day) match and proclaiming that there is a possibility of expansion across the Tasman in 10 years. Surely a truer indication before sprouting such garbage would be to take a few normal rounds of AFL over there and see how they go.

I think that there will be a team in Perth (and doing well) long before we see one from New Zealand.

Have you actually even seen the tv ratings for live, prime time NRL in Perth. Abysmal comes to mind.

I think there will be an AFL team in New Zealand (and doing well) before an NRL team in China.
PREMIERS Manly are fast-tracking plans to play an NRL match against Canberra in China, with hopes it can be scheduled as soon as early 2013.

Why? What logic ?
It's a costly exercise to brings teams to Perth and fans lose a home game.
What the ratings show is that people might show up to a one off event but have no regular interest.

Super rugby teams go to South Africa so I think that going to Perth wouldn't be that much of a problem after all the AFL have been doing it for a while so I don't think the tyranny of distance would be a problem. Nobody is saying that there should be a NRL team in Perth next year or even the year after that.
What should happen is a build up of games over the years and then when the interest has built up both in viewers and attendees to the games and you have players that the crowd can identify with then that is the time to introduce a Perth NRL team.

On the other hand we have the AFL with very limited exposure in New Zealand spruiking the desire to have a team in New Zealand within 10 years. How are they going to do that? By taking one off games for special occasions like ANZAC Day. I know which game my money would be on.
