The capacity of the stadium under construction is still 35k. So cant use it as an excuse for dropping crowds.
general admission for the Gooses is about $2.50
& thats over priced in my opinion ............

Prove it moron!
The titans gave free tickets away and ended up with about the same home crowd!

the Gooses haven't been beaten yet you **** half wit
yet no one cares
VFL.... down the s.hitter it goes in Sydney

The Swans havent played a decent opposition yet either.
Normally after 4 rounds Sydney would have had 2-3 home games so the total Sydney AFL audience would normally be around 52k-78k. This year its about 88k.
AFL total audiences are rising. The NRL's are shrinking. No doubt the boring nature of RL today is having an impact.

One of the wettest games in recent memory for the lions, plus they are still bottom 4.
You never answered my question before. The titans and cowboys attendances have also dropped substantially. Is RL dying in these regions?
What about when the warriors crowds more than halved when they became stellar dwellers?

Did you see the weather on friday night for the broncos, it was just as bad yet they still managed to draw over 30k.
The north queensland area still hasn't recovered from the floods. People are still rebuilding home and their lives. Going to the footy isn't as high on the priority list as it once was

Oh FFS, Broncos are top of the NRL ladder with the Lions in the bottom half of the AFL ladder.

Queensland in general not just the north and as you put it, explains why going to the footy isn't as high on the priority list as it once was. Applies to the Lions too. Thanks for pointing that out.

Wow parramatta bottom of the table and a full house at parra stadium.
Got to the game at 230pm game started at 310pm and no tickets left, i would say there was about 2-3 thousand that got turned away today.
19000+ at this game and parra are certain wooden spooners this year. =D> =D>
Parra need more Sunday arvo games always big crowds at parra on Sundays :D

So 19k between two of the larger Sydney teams is exciting for RL fans?
Port Adelaide and the crows got over 40k today. Port were bottom 4 last year and the crows not much better.
Richmond, perennial bottom team, got 29k against an interstate team today.

Not according to stats up until this round. NRL crowds have shrunk since 2008.

Of course Xman. Nevermind the huge crowds the AFL can attract, 19k in NRL heartland is MASSIVE.

This year the AFL are playing a record number of games in non heartland markets including western Sydney, ACT, Gold coast, Hobart and Launceston. All of these games involve crowds lower than the AFLs average attendance because of smaller stadiums and non heartland populations. Of course such a high crowd average will take a serious hit. But it can afford to.
The AFL aren't concerned about a crowd average. They're concerned about providing access to their games across Australia.
The NRLs crowds are down despite no new expansion.
