Raiderdave and facts are two words that should not be used in the same sentence!

like VFL & rising attendances

Bs and you know it!
But it could be said about the NRL and rising or even steady crowds, for the last 6 years.

The AFL average crowd is so high that any new teams will always lower the average because they will never average 36k in their first 20yrs. But the total number of viewers is up and by quite some margin. This is a better indication of growth in expansion because it shows that even without the new team the crowds would still be up compared to last year. The increase on last year is the bonus of expansion.
The NRLs crowd average is so low a new team may raise their average!

however, despite no expansion the NRL average and total crowds is down steadily from 2008.

Total up. More games played in new markets like WS and Hobart.
Err and about 1/3rd of the scg stands are missing.
The AFL aren't worried about some arbitrary figure like crowd averages. Why would they? You would never expand if that was the case. But they have and now more people than ever are watching the game across all parts of the country. =D> =D> =D>

but but butting along is Xman
the VFL arn't worried eh ?
the VFL W@nk themselves silly .. proclaiming to the world it has the 3rd highest average attendance in the world for professional sport
that'll be lucky to be top 10 the way its going
who said they HAD to expand
they hit the limit of places they could go effectively ... in their very limited world ... & they never had the talent pool to do it anyway with more cr@p teams then ever
they are now just making it up as they go along ... excusing this ... excusing that
the VFL's time has passed ... its ova
popular in Victoria ... meh in the other **** states ... hardly rating a raised eye brow in the Nthn states

I know for a fact the SCG redevelopment is hurting the Swans. General admission tickets are always sold out come game day and walk ups are expected to pay $70 for entry. Just ask KE
Someone else I know had to pay $70 for entry yesterday too. It's ridiculous and the Swans ought to get compensation from the SCG Trust as this is the second redevelopment of the ground during the AFL season that is adversely affecting our gate receipts.

Yeah the Swans getting royally screwed by the AFL, that 1 million they get from the AFL for GWS being at there doorstep isn't going to cover the amount of revenue lost through the gate.
Swans made a loss last year, i guarantee you they will loose a lot more this year.

Down again! Not that im surprised but that is another significant drop. Keep up the compelling research raider. I'm finding it riveting to see the reality of the AFL's shocking mistakes unfolding in front of our very eyes. As said before I predict this average will continue to fall with the AFL's and possibly professional sports worldwides' most lopsided competition ever. Perhaps by end of season Xman etc will acknowledge the mammoth mistakes made by the organisers of their most cherished code...
