Fine. I'm happy that McLeod has reported not one hint of racism at the club he was involved with intimately for 15 yrs. Some scandal indeed!

Yes the scandal was outrageous. That all members of the club weren't privy to it does not lessen the disgrace. You should be ashamed of your conduct in this thread Xman. [-X [-X [-X

The only disgrace was a comment taken out of context. How could a champion and career long player like McLeod not know of racism in his own club? #-o

Fact, no racism manifested it's ugly head into the open arena at the Adelaide football club in the 15 years Andrew McLeod played there. Whether people harbor racist views inside is another matter and hardly something the AFL can act on since it's hidden.

None that McLeod was privy to Xman. [-X

Now all this is very beside the point, as is usual with you Xman. The fact is it happened and the AFL is not doing enough to make sure it has less chance of occurring again. I have drafted the letter and will send it on to Beaussie soon for his signature.

Good day. [-X

well given the comments were out of context and therefore not racist I'd suggest you're barking up the wrong tree.

The context has been explained. He wasn't claiming he wouldn't recruite indigenous Australians. He was stating the requirements of AFL football were becoming very difficult for people who are not used to such a regimented westernized lifestyle. This obviously applies to remotely located indigenous communities.

The same has issue been repeated and debated by many AFL media commentators. Unfortunately for Rendell his comment was taken in isolation and he suffered for it.

His comment was innapropriate in the age we live in. A nasty ignorant racist quip that should be punished and he was rightly ashamed and stood down. The context you describe Xman is typical of the institutional racism which exists within the AFL. Thankyou for pointing out the AFL's current inability to accommodate Indigenous Australians Xman. Your point shall be highlighted in the redrafted letter.

His comment taken as his own motivation and in isolation was innapropriate. Unfortunately that's how it was reported because that's what create headlines. The truth was revealed when he was able to tell his story later. He makes a very good point which needs to be discussed openly. The AFL as an organization at taking great steps to ensure indigenous players are supported in any transition as needed. This has been confirmed by players like Rioli for hawthorn who has praised the support he veiled when moving to Melbourne as a promising teenager.

Your comments about the AFLs inability to accommodate indigenous players are farcical. The AFL have about the same proportion of indigenous players as the NRl, and a far greater proportion of representation than the Australian population.

Its not about how many Indigenous 'heads' you get in Xman. We're talking about stamping out the racist gits, i.e most often non-Indigenous priviliged wankers who make poor comments. Enough is enough and the AFL is embroiled in racism once again right now so the time is ripe to make appropriate long term changes. Not the pithy things you recommend.

Embroiled? One poorly chosen but out of context comment from a sacked recruiting manager is embroiling?

And the latest episode in the saga. A man who's employed by the AFL yet has racist remarks all over his facebook pages. As I said the AFL need help and need to change their employment strategy to avoid their recruitment of racist gits. Keep up with the discussion Xman. [-X
