Re: western australia, the forgotten state?
Yes WA reached 2.35 million in 2011 with an annual increase of 2.6% (60,700 people) with the fastest (percentage) growth, but when using actual numbers Victoria 82,600 + NSW 76,700 + QLD 75,500 show that Western Australia is not really fastest where it counts...milznjim wrote:Although new to the code wars, I have been somewhat bemused by pro nswrl people disrespecting my beloved state!
On one topic in which the two wa AFL clubs huge memberships were reported a nswrl fan replied "wa? who cares" (close to 100,000 just to start) then another topic stated perth "wants" there own nrl team. Why? because tony sage thinks it would be a good investment? well when taking his advice remember that this is the same man who bought perth glory!
so having read all this I have taken upon myself to educate a few simple folk on the western state.
Western Australia is the fastest growing state in the country ( western Australia recorded the fastest growth (2.6%) source abs 2011)

Its two AFL clubs are financial powerhouses (west coast are considered one of the big four) with both clubs filling patterson stadium to capacity week in week out.
Other domestic teams in wa (force, glory, wildcats, fever ect) are a long way behind them.
Western australia is home to the worlds largest miners
actually no this is not true, that also includes if you meant weight lol

If you look at table 5.3 INTERSTATE MIGRATION FLOWS - 2009-10 inside the link above, it shows how
33,191 people from interstate moved to of WA that year, and 54% or 17,923 were from NSW,QLD and ACT.
Now considering that the figure of 8297 people migrating WA in 2009/10 is part of the lowest losses in NSW migration in 10 years it would be safe to assume that during the last few years of Western Australias 'Boom', a fair chunk of that 2.6% growth you were so proud to mention would actually be people from the NRL states, at least 33% (considering natural increase and overseas migrantion).
for each state this is a list of arrivals from ally code states to rival codes for 2009/10....
WA <---- +15,319 from AFL states <---+17,923 from NRL states
NSW <--- +45,293 from NRL states <--- +37,689 from AFL states
QLD <--- +45,289 from NRL states <--- +41,124 from AFL states
VIC <---- +14,653 from AFL states <--- +42,802 from NRL states
Even when excluding the foreign immigrants to WA from countries like NZ or UK that may also be a RL supporters, With all the ex-pats from NRL states now living over in western australia and when looking at how the game is progressing locally in WA, i can see why tony sage is putting his money behind a Perth based NRL team, at the very minimum its as sound an investment the GC Suns Franchise was for the AFL. These 2.6%ers can now spend more time watching the game they prefer and less time "swimming in petrol dollars"...

That's Western Australia with capitals or have you forgotten that.214Four wrote:With all the ex-pats from NRL states now living over in western australia.
Good immigration statistics - where's the rest of the analysis?
Progressing negative for some time.214Four wrote:looking at how the game is progressing locally in WA .
Local league has shrunken and nrl ratings are a statistical aberation.
Well he did poorly with Glory.214Four wrote:i can see why tony sage is putting his money behind a Perth based NRL team.

im sorry for making using a lower case 'w' for western australia, and how much more statistics do you want? lol info on births, marrages, deaths of the Northern Territory??? i tried to find the most usefull information about this threads topic, brief but factual...cos789 wrote:That's Western Australia with capitals or have you forgotten that.

please check out www.abs.gov.au to look for more statistics, i dunno what sort of statistics you wanted? (im guessing theres some point you must have inside your heard to ask this). im not going to use useless information, biased or useless articles and use them in my posts.
i try to make posts that are the complete opposite of the deffensive style post, attacking the crediibility of other posters and accussing everything you disagree with as bullshit. 'opinionated facts' are viewd by some as gospel (one particular code is common for this) when they read posts that tell otherwise there is an influx of defensive reply posts, with alot using offensive language, insults to proove their point. Hmm they do make a good arguement ....
if they are really desperete it is common for some members go right off subject and use grammar or spelling mistakes as their defensive post.
PS sorry i forgot to use capital letters..
