Still much larger than your NAB Cup fixture last night that was free entry to all Gold Coast Suns members.
They supposedly have 10,000 members but only got 5,381. Must be fudging their membership numbers.
Piss poor display. The A-league in Brisbane even got a bigger crowd.
it was free to their " ticketed " members only .. more then 3 game memberships
meaning half of their membership is non ticketed
oh dear
Thuns .......... GONEEEEEE

Dope! The preseason games are practice matches where teams play their reserve players. This happens to every preseason game every year!
Fancy trying to score points over a practice match!

It was 28k. You hit the nail on the head: impressive by RL standards.

announced as 29,189 wombat
but constant reports saying it was actually ova 30K
so dunno whats going on there .....
raining too .... great turnout
& a gritty gripping spectacle it was too
great way to start the season

Haha, what a surprise! 29 but many saying it was over 30k. Are they counting seagulls and catering staff as well?
Fudge fudge!

Must have been at least 50k surely! No?
Maybe 40k? No?
Surely it was at least 30k! Oh no!
Not as low as 20k. What a disgrace!!!

Pathetic comeback! Even the Westcoast v Fremantle 2 weeks ago only have less than 20k, when they could sellout two times over for a season game.
You are stooping to new lows trying to compare the NRL proper season games to AFL practice matches. But if thats what it takes to make you feel better!
So, how many to the NRL blockbuster last night again? Surely you know the answer!! Out with it man!!

Got a link for the 1.2M viewers? Interesting since the Broncos played one of the most popular Sydney teams yet the match only got 600k!

Tragic really! Then only 11k attended the game!!!!!

This was a full season game with two popular teams!!!
In fact already in round 1 the NRL have registered a lower crowd than any AFL match played last year, excluding games played in Darwin, Cairns or ACT!!!
NRL = the laughing stock of Australian support!

Comparing a round 1 friday night game of RL in Sydney to an AFL practice match on the GC! Thats what you are forced to do by what was an absolutely disgraceful turnout by RL fans for a blockbuster!
How terribly tragic for the NRL!

again nationally ... last nights game
attracted more veiwers then 95%.. maybe 100% of VFL club games will this year ....
i mean
whats doing there ?
11K was a fair turnout in the conditions considering it was live on TV ...
wanna bet that 11K is still smaller then any VFL game outside the centres named above by seasons end ?
i think you won't have the jubblies to make such a claim

BS all BS! You have no link for that crap. The NRL got 600k from 7 million viewers yet you are telling me that the regional audience of 4.5Million rated another 600k!!!
Fudge fudge!!!
11k is a fair turnout is it??? Maybe for the NRL it is.

The real question should be, do the Suns really have 10,000 members??
