The NRL have long claimed superiority on payTV. Yet the moment AFL states actually start to get comparable subscription rates, and AFL matches are finally shown exclusively on payTV (not against FTA) they sweep in and win.

Just came across the following over at Big Footy posted by Prince Imperial. Very impressive figures indeed for Fox Footy, in particular Brisbane. =D> =D> =D>

Once again Fox Footy is easily the best rating subscription channel for the week 22/4 to 22/8. It secured 3.6% of subscription viewers placing it well ahead of Fox 8 and Fox Sports 2 both at 2.3%.

There are also some interesting figures available for total channel share in each of the 5 city metro markets. The total metropolitan viewing for all TV channels (including those who don't have pay) shows that nationally Fox Footy had 1.6% of all viewing. The city figures were Sydney (0.5), Melbourne (2.6), Brisbane (1.3), Adelaide (1.9) and Perth (2.2) . Very good result for Brisbane I would think especially given the onfield weakness of the Lions and Suns.

I would have thought Foxtel would be more impressed with the increasing Pay TV subscriptions and AFL tv ratings that are not just on the weekend, but everday of the week on the Number 1 STV channel - Fox Footy, which consistently rates better than all other channels on Foxtel.

Only the AFL can deliver consistent ratings each day of the week.
