Oh Dear,
Raiders premonitions appear to be coming true. Any Marngrook or VFL supporters would have been hoping for a sellout in this match, but they didnt even get close on what was a lovely eve in sydney town. It actually seems interest in them may be waning out west as I went to their trial matches last year against the swans and another marngrook side and Blacktown was packed with more than 10,000.
We shall wait with baited breath for the GWS season opener, I'll be there at the game and am happy to report on crowd figures as they come out.
I hope the ridiculous comments of other VFL supporters which suggest league fans should be worried and afraid of the GWS taking over the west. Absolute dribble, League will always be strong in Sydney.

VFL supporters would have little interest in a game in NSW
Fool!

I must apologise

sorry Xman I meant Victorian Rules, the silly naming of the code got me again, thanks for catching me out on my mistake. You must have missed my admission though Xman. I too am refusing to call the sport AR anymore. It's invalid, innacurate and misleading. Marngrook is a better name for the sport, and so is Victorian Rules.
Thanks again for catching me on my silly mistake, you should let nsw know the sport isnt called AFL either

Victorian rules? Aren't there 8 clubs in this comp outside Victoria?

There is no such thing as Victorian Rules. It's called Australian Rules.

Hey Xman, please change the title of your entries from now on, if you wouldn't mind.

The subject maybe? Does that help? Needs to stay as AFL because that is correct.

are you serious ?
a game between the world famous Collinscray ... & the tsunami
beat our charity shield by just 15K
it should have doubled it
another embarrasing result for the VFL ....

What's your excuse this time? No Regionals?
A practice match between a new club and collingwood beat a charity game between two Sydney clubs!

should of doubled it ... you barely beat our game
a comp game with the VFL's most famous club .. collingdon
should have been watched by 259K in melbourne alone ... not the entire nation
that figure for the charity of 244K
is very very good ... up about 80K on last year

Lol
In what way should a preseason cup game have "doubled" those ratings? That would be a result of over 500k on payTV, significantly higher than any NRL game last year. Where's your logic?
The fact is there was lots of choice for AFL fans on the weekend, and only 1 choice for RL fans. Yet every AFL game rated nearly as well as the NRL game, and one beat it comfortably, despite all being practice only. These include regional audience too, and no doubt still heavily favour northern states in subscription levels.
The NRLs so called dominance of payTV is finished. =D>

didn't foxtel pay the VFL heaps in the hope that subcriptions would double down in the shthn states or something ?
&
it was watched by Collinsford fans ... they say they have a million followers in Aust
& of course in Sydney too for the tsunami's first shot in anger .. people certainly weren't at the ground ... so they would have been watching on TV right ?
plus Perth ... Adelaide ... etc
& this game struggles to beat a mickey mouse NRL pre season practice match
VFL is doomed if this is any indicator
happy days
