Firstly this wasn't a bs claim. Secondly I've asked for a link multiple times and none has been forthcoming. Thirdly, these cumulative figures are not national because they don't sample all areas.

Bearsy says he gets his figures from a similar source
but I caught him out badly several times last year .. fudging it up

he cannot be trusted

the NRL handed the AFL its goolies in 2011 & has done so for the last 3 years
Rugby League has had the biggest rating game of football in Aust ... & 4 out of the top 5 ( it was 7 in the top 10 in 2011) every year
since 2005
suggestions of anything else ... belong in the BS file

I haven't seen one Independant link for these cumulative figures. Until I do they are bs.

The regional figures are extremely questionable. Last years AFL GF rated over 900k for about 30% of the 5 city figure. Yet some of the finals had regional ratings of less than 10% of the 5 city ratings. Absolute rubbish. Imagine adding these inaccuracies over an entire year!

The only figure of any importance is the $$$$ it provides the network which is directly related to the value the product provides to the network. 1.25b says it all.

Give it up for this year. The AFL will win even the lopsided cumulative figures now more games are on TV and live in to Perth and Adelaide for the first time. For too long the AFL has only shown 4.5 games to all markets, while the NRL has had 7. The AFL will go up to nearly 7 now, and combined with its 50% longer running time and more natural ad breaks the NRL will be lucky to get 800k. Probably less now the Internet rights are gone.
