Probably a bit premature for that call. Fans would have been looking forward to their first season with a great deal of anticipation and may have signed up early. Renewals may not be a priority for existing members until closer to the season. What was their full tally last year?

why

everyother AFL club ... those that had their numbers published ... are either equal or in front of their numbers from 12 months ago
except the Thuns & Lions
you would at least think they'be somewhere near their numbers from last year
& the Thuns are not just down a bit .... they're not even close 8-[

I suspect the Swans are down too .... they're at 15K .. but can't confirm this .. as they didn't release their 2011 numbers til March last year

hmmm
I said this would happen to the Thuns .... but I never thought it would be this bad so soon :-k
The swans will lose members to the GWS of course.

The Lions aren't far off and will be suffering for some very poor seasons.

The suns possibly will not achieve the same number as last year as you suggest, but can afford to lose a few as their number was pretty decent for a first year team. They will rise quickly once they become competitive. No doubt their poor form will have turned some members off.
last in 2011...... interest dropping

2nd last in 2012 ..... interest .. plummeting

when will they become competitive ... 2014 .. 2015
it may be all ova by then for them... with the ship not only having sailed ..... but docked 5 ports along the trip :-k

Amazing what happens when a team is bottom.

If they were top and struggling it would be different. The storm and warriors say hi!

How about you worry about the Raiders, Dave? They're in more trouble than the Swans, the Lions and the Suns put together without a sponsor! And the Suns won't finish second last. That spot's already reserved for Port Adelaide IMO!

Their crowds were higher in previous years, and their tv ratings actually dropped.

Off topic; Xman please check your reports. Six posts to go, and I've made a formal complaint to Beaussie that should result in the suspension of Debbie.

the thuns will win 3 games in 2012
2 of those .... against the winless midgits 8-[

wait til you see 2013................

their ratings didn't drop as Parra pointed out
& they only kicked on. late in the season ... & their appearance in the GF was a shock to everyone including their own fans

when they trott out onto Eden Park in 4 weeks against Manly in front of 50,000 fans
we'll see if they're struggling or not

You can use this excuse while theyre hopeless but what excuse will you use when they start winning games regularly?

well I won't be holding my breath waiting
nor will people in Western Sydney or the Gold Coast

by the time they do start winning with artifical assistance from the AFL ( don't think that won't be trotted out  )
it will be too late
the Thuns will have just a few expat **** sthners watching
the midgits won't even have that to rely on

Their crowds will be up this year seeing as their members are their highest ever, and I already told you why NZ ratings were down across the board for half the year #-o
