Nice one!
When you were born did you start at one? No. You started at zero! It might have been your first year, but you didn't start at one.
& it explains this quite well
the first 365 days of the first year of the first century was not called year zero
it was called year one
then you count each .. 365 days .. the aniversary of a point in time .. after that to get to the next year
hence
the first year of the next century .. the 2nd Century .. was 101
not 100 as it was the last year of the first century
get educated ... its called maths
they do teach that in vicderpia don't they ?

It's a matter of terminology, not maths

no its not
count to 20... is 10.... the first number of the 2nd lot of 10
or the last number of the first 10
lesson concluded

NSWAFL wrote:The issue of the presence of a Year 0 however IS maths! To get to one you HAVE to start at zero. The number exists. What, there's no such thing is 0.5?
really ?
how do you count
where do you start
zero ?
no ?
lesson ends

If it was as simple as maths why is there even a debate about it like I posted from wiki?

w@nkers trying to justify there enormous mistake about millenium celebrations being on Dec 31st 1999
when maths experts then pointed out
in fact
the millenium didn't end til Dec 31st 2000
a lot of carry on ... but the mathematicians were quite correct

does it start in the year 0
Numbering always starts from zero.
The first year is zero up until the first annversery, the first year, the first full year.
Under a year, it is usually then referred to as in months etc.
It's simple mathmatics. Don't get confused with wording.

Point me to a MATHEMATICIAN who said that.
The year 2000 was the START of the new millenium. The old millenium did end at midnight December 31 1999.
What was the date the day before January 1 in the year 1?

10 is the tenth number, but when talking time ,10 is the end of the ninth period.

When did the new Millennium start?
The first day of the new Millennium was 1 January 2001. The year 2000 was actually the final year of the previous Millennium. So, despite the fact that it was the year 2000, it was officially the 20th century for one more year.

You did, but it was still being hotly debated. It's better as its own thread than in the international thread.
It'll die soon enough.
