The Gold Coast is already AFL heartland. This proposal to move Titans games to PNG will just ensure the AFL heartland of the Gold Coast grows bigger and stronger. Cheers NRL. Well it's not like you really have a choice with the Titans flat broke after just a few seasons in the competition.

I wouldn't say heartland. It is definetely dominated by rl however i wouls say maybe a 60/40 split maybe as a guesstimate and thats at the high end for aussie rules.

The issue titans have is that whilst nrl dominates this does not translate into support for them per se with many nrl supporters supporting other teams. For rl heartland support should be higher. The suns also have the issue of AFL supporters having another club but there is a strong following with the suns as their second team. A lot of AFL kids also follow the suns. As their is a culture of going to the game in AFL many of these secondary supporters like to go.

Anyway, when you compare titans crowds to some sydney teams they are not too bad.
