State of Origin coming back?

Only if they figure out a way to allow those presently playing AFL to play in that team instead of their state of origin team. Aboriginal ancestry within origin rules would have to be pretty strict. Without AFL Aboriginal players, I don't think they would be competitive against the big three. In 1988 they tried it during the bicentennial championships in Adelaide, and they played in the Division 2 GF (and lost to I think the VFA).

I can still remember NSW beating VIC at the SCG.powerful wrote:I would love to see a State of Origin series again - I think the crowds would love it as well. It is also recognition for the players - as not all can make the team of the year side. Growing up Vic used to win all the time - but now I think it would be more even. Maybe NT would win!
