Good point about News Ltd and their ownership of the NRL. The NRL is as corrupt and dirty as the their owners.AFL Warrior wrote:The NRL is owned by News Ltd and the way Murdoch and his cronies are being exposed in the UK over their illegal phone tapping, bribery methods etc it won't be long before it filters down to Australia and the NRL...bye bye NRL.

On News Limited, I think we all know how stupid they are - what with the Storm BS along with their now former control of the NRL board. Whether or not Murdoch knew about the phone tapping News of the World was doing I don't know and only a police investigation in the UK will sort that out. But I think Murdoch wasn't taking any chances and cast the paper off quick smart - putting everyone (including the guilty parties whoever they are) out of work.
It's an object lesson in not allowing a media organisation to run a sport, and it's taken the NRL a long time to realise that! And it's too late now because the brand has been harmed and their battle back has been slow and arduous (sp?) - and it's no one's fault but their own!
AFL Warrior wrote:Now the US Congress is going after Murdoch..this just keeps getting better, am sure the NRL is starting to worry now seeing their beloved boss is now being seen as an International criminal. =D>
