Where did you hear that Fosters is an English company Sean? The Fosters Brewing Company owns Carlton and United Breweries as well as many wineries in Australia. The biggest Australian brewer and wine company and a big player in the international market. Fosters may not be huge in Australia, but it sure as hell is around the world, particularly in England.

Check out the companies history in Australia:

thats what i mean man, when i went to england it was on tap in most pubs and very popular, i har its similar in the states, they use the most moronic and stereotypical australian type adds to promote it, but they forget to mention that we hardly drink it anymore, nor do any australians act like the ones in thier ads. lol its the same with XXXXD while it is still very popular here, well in QLD anyway, i was rather suprised to see it in a lot of english pubs, and heres me stuck witout VB for 6 months

I can't stand those ridiculous XXXX ads on at the moment. I wasn't aware that XXXX was popular in England. Could you find any other Australian beers widely available over there?

npt really, i went to an aussie nightclub called the walkabout which bthey have heaps of over there and there you can get any beer you want really, but the walkabouts were crap and boring so i rarely went, only if i needed a quick VB or something, but yeah it was a suprise to find a few pubs there not only had XXXX, but it was actually on tap so i guzzled it down at every oppurtunity as i dont mind it really

Yeah Grim I'm a new fan of West End having visited NT and SA just before Xmas. Hey any ideas where one might find West End in Sydney? Can't say I've ever seen it available.

And as a South Australian, what do you think of Coopers? I tried a Coopers Pale Ale the other night and can't say it did much for me.

Coopers Pale Ale is nice but the other Coopers Red label is awful. The Sports Tavern in Kings Cross used to sell West End....not sure if the still do now. Also they have West End at the Star City casino.....

Whatever beer is in my hand is a good beer. Never as good as the next one but always better than the last!

And remember, "Beauty is in the eye of the Beerholder"!
