what makes a NRL club have money is the amlunt of pokes, :(/

its actually the WCE is you are talking most cash in the bank, in their annual report thay had around 40 odd million in the bank, not with a single poke.
they raised almost 20 million last season just through memberships alone

I didn't differentiate by how they raised their money only who would be overall

Sorry , its not a toss up. Penrith almost double Collingwood who are in 2nd position and C'bury Bulldogs third.

Black Kettle, did you read the article about how only 5 AFL clubs would have made a profit this year without pokies #-o

Absolute no brainer the AFL is the biggest code

Has complete dominance in Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania

Is dominant in the northern Territory

Breaks even in Canberra

Has a fairly strong presence in south east Queensland

The only real place NRL has a hold is from above Wagga Wagga to south of the gold coast . And from Brisbane to Townsville

Average crowds last year for the NRL were 16643 and for the AFL 33461 which is over double the NRL's

In New Zealand the AFL had an average of 22546 where as the NRL could only manage 15222

Membership it is even worse for the NRL with 224,129 the AFL got 756,717

This year the gulf will widen further with the adelaide oval and could push the average attendance towards 35000. Once the new Perth stadium is finished this will see a huge boost to attendance approaching 40000.

Soon the AFL will own Etihad stadium and this will give AFL a huge boost

The AFL is already the biggest code only a matter of time before it is the biggest code in every state. Every year NRL heartland is shrinking as it is encroached on by the AFL but not only the AFL is doing damage, soccer is also tearing through NRL heartland just look at the WSW

Ok then give me some stats that show the NRL has more support than the AFL in Australia.

I could go on with more stats for example bigfooty has over 106000 members do any NRL forums get close?

I was talking about some of the utter tripe you posted.

Just a few things ..AFL crowd average in NZ... :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/
Play more than one game a yr..

Oh & tell me what the NZ AFL team averaged V The Warriors average.

Breaks even in Canberra... OH my...
Your comp has not got a team in Canb..

This one is a huge laugh..

The only real place NRL has a hold is from above Wagga Wagga to south of the gold coast . And from Brisbane to Townsville

How come the Titans have a bigger crowd average & smash the Suns in Ratings on the GC.
Are you saying that past Townsville is AFL country..

But this is the best bit of derping I have seen in a long long time..
Delusion at its best.

The AFL is already the biggest code only a matter of time before it is the biggest code in every state. Every year NRL heartland is shrinking as it is encroached on by the AFL but not only the AFL is doing damage, soccer is also tearing through NRL heartland just look at the WSW.

Firstly no wait on :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ .
Get some facts ..
In QLD at Junior sign on days...AFL runs 5th behind Soccer,RL RU & netball ..& a poor 5th..

All the "Participation " Bullshit numbers are to impress the braindead..that would be you ,& then used as gospel that AFL is taking over..

& the old soccer is hurting RL argument .
Spoken like an insular Fumbler..
Here is some news .
Soccer & RL have co existed just fine /sharing grounds etc for over 100 yrs ..
& how can a sport played in Summer affect the rL numbers in Winter..
Major derp..

If I was you I would be more worried about the ever shrinking Swans crowds.
The lions going backwards (The technically INSOLVENT) Lions..

If I had to make a guess I would say that you get all your info off Big Footy..
Great source of Derpment..
Many posts about RL in QLD & NSW by Vics or West Aussies who have never been to either state.

If the swans crowds were shrinking they would be smaller overall. But their crowds aren't shrinking at the scg. I showed figures which demonstrated their crowds at the scg were about the same last year as they were in 2007 when they had their highest overall average. The swans crowds at ANZ have shrunk which reflects the fans opinion of ANZ

Cairns gets decent crowds for AFL and so it could hardly be said to be NRL heartland. Play NRL games in victorian towns like Geelong and you would not see the same level of support

Suns hardly won in their first few years, this year now that they are finally a side that may make finals there is a better indication of support with the suns getting over 18000 last game

In Queensland if its heartland NRL should be beating the AFL in participation but in the next 10-20 if the AFL continue to increase at current rates in participation they will be around the NRL's mark

Shrinking swans crowds what? last year in a stadium that was half under construction they still got over 28000 over 3000 more than the year before!!!!

The lions have been uncompetitive for years once they improve the crowds will come back

This is about which sport is the biggest in Australia not just Queensland prove that on a national level the NRL is bigger

Why is it that you NRL fans are so abusive in your arguments? Why must you always say Gayfl, VFL or fumbleball, AFL fans always refer to NRL as NRL

Jesus do you keep track of the shit you post?

You made a claim about Fumbleball taking over & the biggest code in EVERY state.
I replied what a crock of shit that was....

Then you post this.

This is about which sport is the biggest in Australia not just Queensland prove that on a national level the NRL is bigger .

So why did you say EVERY state ?

& please don't start with the "FUCKING PARTICIPATION " numbers .
They are bullshit..
Utter crap .& have no relevance to real actual Playing numbers..
They are a "Propaganda tool " used on braindeads by the AFL..

Tell me this .
Why don't they ever post ACTUAL REGISTERED PLAYING NUMBERS".

AFL fans always refer to NRL as NRL.
What Planet do you live on .?

Eventually I said it would become the biggest code if the current trends of growth continue for the next 10-20 years

So do you actually think that the NRL is the biggest sport in Australia? If you do give some stats which support this

oh dear bileduct
you are as deluded as all of our other lil fumblers in here

Break even in Canberra ? :?>
it wouldn't break wind in Canberra
4th behind all of the other football codes in your nations capital is this Victorian abortion

Dominant in NT
ahh . no :-k
RL is now more popular in Darwin then the VFL

Fairly strong in SE Qld ??
& yet it can't crack 50K TV veiwers in an area that has nearly 3 Million people :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/

the VFL averaged 22K in NZ eh ? :-k

that's for ONE game you dipshit & 2/3 of those ex pat aussies & the kiwis all got in for free
at the same venue the following week the NRL got 32K .... 31K of them Kiwis
plus we had 100K attend the 9's in NZ only a few months ago

our memberships were at 80K in 2008
they'll of more then tripled by the end of this year ..... 300% + increase in 6 years ... wow , just wow

VFL are crowds are falling , that is the trend mainly due to the code failing in NSW & QLD ( no one gives a shit about it up here  )
a tiny increase last year is an anomaly due to rampant fudging by the Midgets & Thuns
37K in 2010... 31K in 2012
it will settle at around 30K by around 2016 , 2017

the AFL will own a 24 year old out of date stadium in need of upgrades & attention that the AFL will have to maintain itself
it isn't the piece of real estate that fumblers think it will be

no bileduct
the VFL is a code on the decline
financially it is in strife with 11 maybe 12 of its clubs insolvent
& it will go broke keeping them on the field

it will continue to dominate one corner of one country
the rest of the world will remain ... fumbler free
