When you start from such a low baseline you would hope there would be growth ... Lets face it it couldn't get much lower. But it is good to see growth particularly given the new focus on membership.

Isn't the raiders average home crowd this year only about 10900 only up 800 people from a disappointing 2012 when their average was 10190. Really poor, they've been around sine 1982 and were averaging 17392 in 1994! Thats a really worrying stat! Just as well their juniors are well and the Raiders sports club LTD are doing well otherwise they would really be up shit creek. As it is the Football Club lost 220k last year and only Gov hand-outs and their sports club saved them http://m.canberratimes.com.au/act-news/ ... 1xzpx.html. Really poor really, may get poorer as the year goes on if they can't improve on field!

Port Adelaide 39,005.

So we've got Essendon, Port Adelaide, Collingwood, Sydney and GWS who've broken membership records.

Very impressive coming from an NRL fan.

11 NRL clubs have this year broken all previous membership numbers as well (I am glad my club the bulldogs are one of those with over 17,000 members signed up now), seems like more and more people are commiting to their clubs in both the NRL and AFL.

I think the AFL has higher ratings than nrl but apart from that agree with above.

EDIT: Forgot Richmond initially. Hawthorn should be joining them soon as well.

Certainly NRL starting to get their act together with memberships, like I have said before there is room for both, Syd Swans clear example where GWS grew and NRL clubs.

Some nRL clubs are already stagnating in the membership department.
