You NRL fools amuse me.The AFL has outrated NRL by 3 million viewers in the last two weeks and still you try to make an argument for your one dimensional dribble.Of course your going to get higher ratings on fox it has been the only way to watch league on a saturday for five years and lets face it the numbers arent that impressive.By the end of the year the AFL will have outrated league by a good 20,000,000.But you fools will still believe the propaganda from idiots like Roy Masters.By the way channel ten is 70% down in revenue(no longer a player] and advertising on tele down between 6 and 12% across the board. On top of that Kim Williams former head of fox and CEO of News corp has said he believes the AFL is the better option for foxtel in his words "more family friendly".Good luck trying to find 1.25 BILLION.

A fair proportion of AFL games are split into single market telecasts over Easter because of the increased number of days where games are played.

Desperate attempt there pussycat. Desperate. [-(

Seven meanwhile built on the momentum gained from the start of the AFL season with a 6.2 per cent lift in audience share to 43.1 per cent - its highest share outside of the Beijing Olympics, according to Credit Suisse. Nine recorded the worst fall, off 4.8 per cent to 31.4 per cent.

Nine must be ecstatic about their decision to show NRL nationally on GEM!

More reason for Ten to want a piece of League to get them back into the ratings picture.

The reality is the only games the NRL rate in the 300's are for evening games in prime-time when the most people are at home. The AFL evening games on payTV are against a FTA game as well. The NRL games are exclusive. The AFL and NRL day games on payTV get similar figures and vary according to the quality of the match up.

The fact that the AFL rated 334k during the day when also on FTA is awesome!

Ratings for Fridy night care of MediaweekAus:

NRL: Fri TV: #NRL live Nine/GEM 699k (Syd 374k Mel 15k Bri 308k Ade 2k)

Live NRL in Melbourne is a hit isn't it! what about Adelaide! #-o
Good numbers for Brisbane thought, but hardly surprising given their only NRL team is shown every FN live and are doing very well. I wonder how the non-broncos game rated in Brisbane? :-k

And the AFL: Fri TV: #AFL Seven/7mate 879k (Syd 56k Mel 499k Bri 38k Ade 155k Per 130k)

This is 10% up on the same game last year, and without adding foxtel! =D>

A smashing, and with foxtel still to come. The AFL could get over 1.1mil without FTA regionals! :D The NRL is averaged over only 2 hours too! :P

Note that the AFL rated 94k in Sydney and Brisbane, with foxtel probably another 50-80k.
Meanwhile the NRL rated a massive 17k in Mel/Adel with Perth not appearing to even register!

wow ... how utterly embarrasing for the VFL

its biggest game to date between 2 of its biggest Melbourne clubs
879K metro
250K foxtel
150k regional

1.279 Mill all up

again

less then the 1.306 Mill who watched a game between 1 Sydney side & a regional side in rnd 1 of the NRL
not within cooee of the 1.437 Mill would watched the Storm V Dragons game last year that was only shown in NSW & QLD

AND ... only as much as 2 run of the mill NRL games last night after the regional audience ( which would have topped 500K as both games were shown live simultaneously in Canberra & Newcastle ) were included
of ova 1.2 Million

gee .. when will the VFL win something :-k

Hmm, ok so the AFL have a metro population of 7 mil which rated at around 700k, but their regional population of 2.5 -3m (which includes areas of southern NSW that follow AFL) will only contribute 150k ratings?

Interesting given even Roy masters showed the AFL get around 800k regionals per round despite 700k people in SA and WA not even being counted!

You've lost it Dave! Without FTA regions your 2 live games together, averaged over only 2 hours, gets beaten by the single AFL game to the tune of 400-500k. So unless you're bringing 700-800k regionals (from 5million people) you're losing no matter what!!
