Anyone see the crowds last night? The roosters and Souths attracted 60k to a home and away game and hawks and swans couldn't even match that in a finals game. Haha.
NRL games with crowds above 50k in 2013? 2

AFL games with crowds above 50k in 2013? 28

Big deal. A game involving 2 local teams should always out draw a game with interstate rivals. It only took an NRL record to do it :(/

2 actually Melbourne and Sydney, more than what nrl can do,
plus Western Australia and south Australia have had a number of sell out 40k plus crowds. their ovals cannot fit 50k crowds :(/

both the NRL and AFL have had 50 plus crowds in their largest heartland city.

28 to 2 says it all

You're not getting my point mate. My point is, a AFL finals match got beaten by a NRL home and away game. How many times do I have to say that?

All 28 ... 50k plus crowds for the vfl..in 2013... were in the one city... the great game of RL... can pull crowds this large in many more then just one city

That also
.. says it all

What's the finals part got to do with it? Do you want me to show you some recent NRL finals crowds in recent years that are well below the AFLs average home and away crowd?

Can you show me one non grand final crowd where an NRL team has played an interstate team in front of 60k?

How many did the NRL get outside Sydney this year?

So lets compare plus 30k crowds since most cities have a stadium that fits this number

NRL v AFL:
12 v 96

Youch!!!

Again, a home and away NRL game beat the Collingwood finals game.

And again, it was the highest ever NRL home and away crowd and Collingwood vs an interstate team

Want me to start listing some recent NRL finals crowds for laughs? Try this: 7 of last years 9 NRL finals had less than 37k attendance.

Oh dear

the nrl haven't achieved a 50plus crowds in Brisbane for years, either
there are no other stadiums in aus that can seat 50k in Australia, so what is your point Raiderdave? :-({|=
south australia and westen austrlia regularly achieve 30k 40k plus sell out crowds, when has the NRL ever achieved this, .......never :(/
that is why the nrl only average 14k to its games :)))

Maybe because most of those 7 was played in stadiums with 25 k capacity?
