Read their report FFS! It states clearly that the totals exclude Tasmania and regional WA!
This is hardly startling news. It's been known for yeons! Read the first 20 pages of this thread FFS!

As Roy masters already demonstrated the NRL get an advantage of only 400k per round from regional ratings. That's not even close to making up for the 1.5 to 2 million viewers behind they are for each rounds total viewers excluding regionals.

I'd hardly say smashing! Every advatage, but still you spiral down. Round 6 and our figutres are as good as ever. However, I cant say the same for you lot. Only Round 2 and your down near 25% - extra FTA - Extras PTV games(nearly all live) and your still only ahead by 750k - a worrying trend(for you) :D . And thats just Metro. How far ahead would we be if Australia's entire population was included.

The NRL also dropped by 20% from week 1 to week 2.

they stayed around 2.8m per round for many weeks until they got better ratings over Easter due to a different schedule.
The AFLs schedule was pretty much the same as usual with 2 night games and two day games per market, plus foxtel.
So come next round the AFL will be back to being ahead by 1.5 mil.

Yawn,
The NRLs Have been around 2.7mil for weeks. A different schedule over the Easter weekend changed that briefly. They'll be back to 2.7mil soon enough
Meanwhile the AFL will be over 4million almost ever round this year.

using Roy figures,
The NRL has 57m FTA metro viewers, it also has 38m regional viewers - meaning that an additional 66% or 2/3 of the NRL viewers are regional.
The AFL has 71m FTA metro viewers, it also has 23m regional viewers -meaning that an additional 32%(say 33%) or 1/3 of there viewers are regional.
2/3 is double 1/3 , meaning NRL has double the regional viewers

a stupid comparison.

all you are showing is the regional numbers are worth far more to the NRL than the AFL.
By comparing the raw numbers the AFls regional ratings are 2/3rds the NRLs. However the proportion of regional viewers is far greater for the NrL than the AFL. Shame for the NRL because the regional ratings are worth significantly less than the metropolitan ratings.
