Seems QSAC isn’t even in the conversation anymore.
Was embarrassing to even mention QSAC.
Agree.

This is just the recommendation of a non govt review anyway , & these fools were always going to deliver a pie in the sky plan that is not affordable or wise in this present climate

The Labor govt got a similar plan from a review , they saw what was proposed basically said
" yea like effing hell "

I think sense will prevail , & yes we will be right back at the start again

If you think Qlders got rid of Labor because of their Olympic plan then you're as stupid as we all think you are , you fumbling *****     :(/ :(/ :(/
Most Qlders only want the Olympics if they are NOT going to be paying for them for decades after , & the Brisb games on a budget is what needs to happen.

The AFL and Cricket will be happy with this news.

A great legacy for the Brisbane Olympics. Can’t wait to go see my Swans play the Lions at the new stadium. How exciting for Brisbane and Australia. :thumbleft:

Brand new 60k-seat stadium for Brisbane Olympics to be built after lengthy review: report

https://www.foxsports.com.au/more-sport ... 242bd911eb

A new 60,000-seat stadium at Victoria Park is set to be recommended to the Queensland government as the centrepiece of the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games.

After years of debate and a state election heavily influenced by the call not to build a new venue, Nine reports the independent panel is set to recommend the new centrepiece stadium.

It would be built instead of a rebuild of the Gabba, the initial plan, or using the aged Queensland Sports and Athletic Centre.

“Sources have now told me the independent panel has recommended the new stadium have 60,000 seats,” Nine’s Tim Arvier reported.

“Significantly, sources also say that this is the proposal that will be taken to cabinet on Monday meeting.

“The stage is set for the new 60,000 seat Victoria Park Stadium to be announced next week, along with a nearby athletes village surrounding the RNA Showgrounds.

“While senior members of the government had wanted to pursue rebuilding the Gabba, the review panel found there was not enough time and the Gabba was too complex, making Victoria Park the best option.

Will be a great for AFL having such a great ground and venue. Plus not having to pay anything as an added bonus. And their ground being show cased to the world.

And we know how good the G looks when full and a view from above - imagine a full Victoria Park with the city in the background. Qld government have made the right choice here. Imagine thinking a QSAC revamp even being thought of?

I hear they are considering Suncorp for the swimming lol ?
