SEN Gold Coast 1620am is excited to announce a significant revamp in its content strategy, launching today; Monday 3 March. This strategic shift is designed to better serve the large number of Victoria expats on the Gold Coast who have a keen interest in AFL, while continuing to cater to the strong NRL following in the region.
From the week commencing March 3, 2025, SEN Gold Coast 1620am will adopt a near 50-50 split in its coverage of both NRL and AFL content. This hybrid model aims to provide a unique point of difference in the market.
During weekdays, after ‘Coz and Heals’ (Breakfast with Corey Parker and Ian Healy), SEN Gold Coast 1620am will then take Whateley (mornings) and Dwayne's World (afternoons), followed by The Run Home with Joel and Fletch (Joel Caine and Bryan Fletcher), and Sportsday with Scott Sattler and Mat Rogers. The week's programming will be interspersed with other programs important to Queenslanders, including Morning Glory with Matty Johns on Friday mornings, The Captain's Run on Wednesday afternoons, and The Throwdown with Mal Meninga on Thursday afternoons. There will also be more AFL content played on weekends, but with the Gold Coast Titans (NRL) and Gold Coast Suns (AFL) games always taking precedence.
Bec Sattler, SEN’s Commercial Director for the region, commented on the new strategy.
"We are constantly evolving as a business, and this re-work of our content strategy will better serve our listeners on the Gold Coast. By offering a balanced mix of NRL and AFL content, we are confident that we can meet the diverse interests of our audience and provide a unique listening experience."
