He must have been reading all my posts about crowds on this site after all. I would just add what I have repeatedly pointed out here: At the moment the NRL is averaging about 17k with 24M population and 3 codes to compete with. The Italian SerieA is one of the biggest soccer comps in the world. They avg 22k with a population of 65M & no significant other code competing against it.
